I've been casually watching S01 this week. It's still pretty dang funny, and I find all the major characters enjoyable.

The Salingers in general are fairly neurotic, and each have their own repetitive shortcomings of personality.

But man, Charlie is actually almost a piece of shit. Just right there on the borderline. Maybe even the personality borderline. He's constantly gaslighting his siblings, and he practically stalked Kirsten.

Discuss please.

EDIT: I'm a little more than halfway through S04. But I don't mind spoilers.

The Adventures of Tintin is an animated television series co-produced and animated by French animation studio Ellipsanime and Canadian studio Nelvana. The series is based on the comic book series of the same name by Belgian cartoonist Hergé (French pronunciation: [ɛʁʒe]).[1] 39 half-hour episodes were produced over the course of three seasons, originally airing in France, Canada and the United States between 1991 and 1992.

...

Along with fans, critics have praised the series for being "generally faithful" to the originals, with compositions having been actually taken directly from the panels in the original comic books.[6]

Austin St. John and Walter Emanuel Jones, who played Red and Black Rangers Zack and Jason, recently opened up about their experience being catapulted to '90s superstardom... and seeing very little in return.

It’s long been known that, despite Power Rangers‘ overnight success, its behind-the-scenes drama saw its cast and crew earn very little of the blockbuster cash the series brought in as it exploded in the early ’90s. But in a new video together, two of the original members of the Mighty Morphin’ team opened up about just how sketchily they were treated, both before and after Saban realized the phenomenon it had in its Spandex-clad hands.

Murder in the Heartland is a television miniseries that aired on ABC in 1993. It was based on the 1957–58 murder spree carried out by 19-year-old Charles Starkweather throughout Nebraska and Wyoming. Starkweather is played by Tim Roth. The first half of the miniseries covers the murders. The second half covers the trials of Starkweather and Caril Ann Fugate, his 14-year-old girlfriend accomplice. Their increasingly disparate versions of events are contrasted as the trials unfold.

The film received strong praise from critics and Emmy nominations.

Forgot how good that show was for the first 5 seasons or so. It ran for 9, but after the 5th, it just seemed like it jumped the shark and kept repeating the same plots over and over (which I guess is kind of meta since the whole premise is Drew's life is basically in a rut).

One thing I learned during this watch through is that the English accent Craig Ferguson used for Mr. Wick was, intentionally, the worst accent he could get by with. He apparently did it that way as a bit of a "take that!" to English actors who do terrible Scottish accents.

A fun/cringe fact about that: I was in a play in high school, my character was a British colonel, and I had to do an English accent for the part. I modeled it off of Ferguson's Mr. Wick unaware that it was intentionally, over-the-top terrible 😆

It was pretty good, as good as I remember the times when I caught it while it was airing. The addition of Jennifer Love Hewitt to the recurring cast was an excellent choice.

But, like, are the Salingers idiots? Have they been eating the paint chips in that house?

Content Warning: the movie starts with a depiction of intimate partner violence; several such depictions are shown throughout, and are the focus of the movie.

In Phoenix, Arizona, 16-year-old Bobby Tennison starts talking to classmate Stacy. He eventually invites Stacy and her friends to a late night lake party. There, Bobby and Stacy sneak off, and eventually learn that their fathers abandoned them. Meanwhile Stacy's mom, Laura, is dating Rod, who is emotionally abusive.

Bobby eventually starts showing possessive behavior. He wants Stacy to always be home at night when he calls and not hang out with anyone when they are together. He occasionally apologizes after getting mad at Stacy, says that he loves her, and gives her gifts. ...

The show is great. Not extremely exciting, but a great representation of 90s family drama. Feel good for quiet evenings.

The problem I'm encountering is that Neve Campbell is so devastatingly attractive that it makes my heart hurt.

I know this sounds like a joke post, but it's actually true. I'm working through it.

Ray and Debra are looking for a house. Ray maps out the optimal distance from his parents to avoid them coming over every day (the 'hot zone') or too far away where they become overnight guests.

When I bought my house a few years ago, this scene was playing in my head and did factor into my decision lol.

More "home video" than "TV", but I'm feeling like breaking my own rules tonight.

One of the group's first projects with Island Records was an hour-long documentary titled Shockumentary, which aired on MTV. The station initially refused to play the documentary, but Island Records persuaded them to air it as a personal favor.[28] Shockumentary helped increase album sales from 17,000 to 50,000 copies per week.[28]

Apparently this was also released on VHS in 98 and reissued on DVD in 2004.
