Connect for Lemmy App

Just wanted to say I really like the link handling in this app. When I use lemmy on Desktop it's always a nightmare to navigate different instances, even with the Greasemonkey script. This app just does it out of the box. Barely had any cases where it doesn't work recently

Is it possible to add an option to auto mute videos when opening a post? At times it's hard to even tell that it's a video when clicking on a post. I've been surprised a few times!

In this picture you can see it in the title of the one post. I have noticed itnin comments sections as well.

I remember seeing a different code on comments as well. It was something like  

When looking at Local or All I want to use Top6. However, when viewing smaller communities, there may not be any posts in the past 6 hours, so I want to sort those by new.

Can Connect have a way to remember that so that I don't have to keep changing my sort settings?

Would it be possible to make the NSFW blur customizable? The big red box stands out like a sore thumb and there doesn't seem to be a way to make it a different color or use a graphic or something.

This is definitely the best Lemmy app I've used but I think some changes to how images work could make it feel a lot more smooth. Making it more like how Sync handles it is what I'm going for. Being able to double tap then hold and drag to zoom in or out is super convenient. I also like the shorter distance to drag to close the image. I have also had issues with gifs displaying as static images.

Currently have to open them, but would be nice to able to skip a step.

Saw this with my @mtgzone username. Problem with that instance or with Connect app?

Revealed spoiler text appears at first to be blank. Highlighting reveals that it's there, just the same color as the background.

Ive recently been sorting top 6 hours but I was curious if there's an option for top 3 hours? I know that's just getting more granular, but not sure if it's a lemmy thing or an app thing.

Would it be possible, in the formatting bar below the text boxes, to have a button that will automatically create a link to an instance or communities? (And usernames now that I think about it?) I keep forgetting and having to look up the exact formatting for each of them. Thank you!

Before update 1.0.124 turning off that setting removed the side/ hamburger menu.

Would it be possible to have a feature to 'freeze gifs' in user avatars. As you can see from this example it can be really distracting. We've all seen what signatures and other cruft look like on other forums- see Ars technica etc.- and I am in the camp that anything that adds cognitive load but isn't part of the post or comment should be minimised.

I was trying to find the comments I've saved on the Connect app, but the Saved tab on the left navigation rail only seems to display saved posts; not comments. Is there a way to view saved comments in the app?

Update: It seems the comments are actually there under Saved. However, when I sort by "new", newly created comments appear after posts for some reason. I have to scroll ALL the way down to view the saved comments. This seems to be a sorting bug.

The swipe controls seem to be gone or are not being registered, but only when viewing the Frontpage, Local, or All. The swipe controls work correctly when viewing a specific community.

I tried going through the settings and disabling other swipe controls, but the behavior remained constant.

Please make a right handed mode. Reaching the far left corner to upvote gets really tiring really fast.

Also another thing, when there are multiple images linked in a post connect seems to load the first picture just fine however the other ones are loaded with a grey backdrop. Please fix.

Connect is the only Lemmy app I have installed that doesn't have a Subscribed feed. And the current default feed isn't even close to the Subscribed feed.

I know there were complaints about how the back button made the app behave but damn don't I miss having it open the drawer.

I been using the app all summer and now it's programmed in me that back button on main = drawer, instead now I'm closing the app constantly.

A setting for back button behaviour would be great, that way everyone can customize however they want it.

Also a padding setting for the swipe area to open the drawer would be great.

Being new to Lemmy and Connect I love the ability to block a community with one click. Could the the ability to subscribe to a community be under the ellipsis on the feed post along with block?

If the inbox is loading, you can swipe to open the left nav. After the inbox loads that action just dismisses your inbox, so it does not have the same effect.

After the left nav shows up while the inbox is loading, the subscribed feed either

1. reloads in a couple of seconds
2. doesn't load at all like this

I think this is a bug. Probably should not be able to open left nav when inbox is loading, no?

This appears when I try to comment on hexbear.net via Connect. I can comment just fine via browser.

I had blocked various NSFW communities and instances on my main account so that they don't show up in my All feed, but now I can't access them from my NSFW account unless I use a different app to do so, or repeatedly unblock and reblock them as needed.~~
