Connect for Lemmy App

I am right handed and browse 1 handedly, using the up and downvotes to hide seen posts.

Now after the change I need to use my left hand to reach to the otherside

Can you block all posts that are marked as NSFW? If so, where is the setting for this? If not, can this feature be added? Thanks.

I use Android's navigation gestures, so to go back I have to do a swipe starting from any edge of the screen (left or right), but doing this from the left edge also opens the sidebar which is not the desired behavior.

I suggest implementing the standard behavior that has been adopted by other apps lately, in which you have to do a long press on the edge for 1 second in order to activate the side bar and be able to swipe to reveal it. You can see this in Google apps, Gmail for example.

Really enjoying this app so far, but I've got a bug. The app closes pictures when you try to zoom in. You can zoom some, but not much.

I just see an empty space until I click on it. Then it shows the picture, and will show up in the comment from then on.

Connect is by far the best lemmy client!

I think it's a bug, but when viewing about a community, the link to subscribe shows as Unsubscribe even though I'm not subscribed to it.

If I open an image in connect for Lemmy, I'll often want to zoom in and explore the photo for details. If I navigate to the edge of the photo while zoomed, the photo/post closes automatically.

This is a really frustrating behavior. Anyone else experiencing this?

While I have the Lemmy connect app open, my Samsung Galaxy S22+'s volume buttons do not work. I must exit the app to adjust the volume.

What's going on here? Can this be fixed?

Is there a setting that I can change to see the number of upvotes and downvotes?

Not my favorite thing in the world just blindly clicking links or images. Would love to see where the links and images point to.

When I manually choose dark theme with my light system theme the bottom bar remains white. I have not tried the reverse. Many other apps can change the color to match app theme.

On the connect app, on the view where the posts are listed as cards (before you click on the post itself), if you click on the picture, zoom in, and scroll by moving the picture around, it will close unexpectedly.

I've noticed a few times that a long comment chain will eventually just cut off and only show the first few comments in the chain.

I'll get a notification that I got a new message but it's impossible to read in the chain. I can only read it from my inbox and it's impossible to respond to. There might be other comments along with mine but I'll never see them unless I go into another app or the browser window

Is this due to my settings or has the default changed?

I am getting kinda sick of constantly not being able to post comments on seemingly random posts due to this error.

The instance is English, the post title is English, and my comment is in English. I have even logged into my instance website to change the language settings to have both "Undetermined" and "English" selected, and that still doesn't work. Not all posts have this problem, and not even posts in just one community or instance. Seems like the error is completely random.

I have to imagine this is an error specific to Connect for Lemmy, since I don't get the same error if I comment from my web browser. It seems to come from Connect for Lemmy not having an option to set the comment language when posting? Can that be corrected please?

When swiping on posts, sometimes I go to a bit too far and then I move it back (without letting go of the swipe). In these cases it always registers it as the furthest option I swiped to, not the one I'm actually selecting at the end.

For example, if I intend to swipe to an upvote but go slightly past to bookmark, then I go back in the previous direction to upvote still without releasing the swipe, it will register the bookmark option

There is a setting in the look and feel section that is called "Mark posts as read in Image Mode". What is image mode and how can I use it?

Not sure if this is possible but it would be nice to have a "Favorites" category to go along with All, Subs, Local.

I've bounced between Lemmy apps and have found Connect to be the best so far. I particularly like the swipe actions as they free up screen space for content.

However I cannot find a way to downvote via swiping. Is the feature not available at present or is it hidden away somewhere in the settings?

Just the title

"Backs out", as in, it's like the back button is randomly pressed while viewing an image zoomed and panning around it.

I thought this was just a gesture getting triggered by mistake, but I do not see the gesture arrow on the screen when this happens.

Edit: I just tried an update and reboot to no avail. Also, I just discovered that I don't need to be zoomed in to the image for this to happen. When I open an image and drag it up and let go, the pic with snap to center again and then back out of the image by itself.

(Example above). If you set the test to larger (yes I'm old!), and try to write a reply to a post, sometimes all the icons are truncated at the bottom of the 'post window'. No amount of scrolling or pinching would make the icons at the bottom appear. Tia
