Hey folks, firstly if anyone has already done this then feel free to skip this post. Like many (all?) of you it keeps me up at night thinking about precisely what is going on with the UAP Phenomena and in the absence of hard evidence/disclosure I have come up with the following scenarios. I will also set out which scenario I believe is the one we are dealing with.

NHI a physical civilization which has a presence in most star systems in the milky way. They have an interest in microbial and intelligent life and send Robots into our atmosphere to monitor and record data. This data is then stored in physical structures (let's call them Sentinels of natural history preservation) deep in the Oort cloud or near the outer planets away from our view. Whether these Sentinels are for the AI civilization or for the species of interest when they advance to a certain level is unknown. This AI civilization may never intervene in natural processes but could intervene in AI development or nuclear war (corroborated by accounts over the last 80 years).

a trans-dimensional species or entity of unknown origin which are beyond our comprehension. This unknown entity has identified one or multiple vector points of interest in our universe/dimension and simply send Robots/material in and out of our dimension (think the tic tac UFO) to record data and test their ability to influence our dimension. These Robots/materials when functioning correctly aren't fully in our dimension and therefore do not conflict with our laws of physics - we simply see photons emitted from said Robots/materials. Their interest in us/motive is unknown but they could be monitoring our capabilities.

NHI are here and have been here since the beginning, predating modern human civilization and "live" deep in the ocean and cloak themselves from human technology. Limited "evidence" exists of potential cooperation with the Cradles of Civilization.

NHI are advanced humans from the future (maybe overlapping with scenario 2) doing spot checks on our timeline for an unknown purpose.

NHI does not exist and has not visited Earth. The United States and other advanced nations have developed technology which far exceeds that used in the mainstream populace. How such technology has been developed in a short space of time is unknown.

NHI visited us in the past, possibly millions of years ago via self replicating machine learning probes. NHI went extinct in their own system via the great filter and their Robots carried on throughout the system with no one to report back to. Robots either deactivated or continued to work with some malfunctioning and crashed on Earth (hence the reported crash retrieval programs).
In my opinion 1 is the most plausible scenario, the NHI exist in our universe and still have to abide by the laws of physics. They are Type II/III on the Kardishev scale and have developed AI technology 1000s of years more advanced then anything we have developed. An advanced technology does not equate to technological perfection and I say this because of reports that our militaries have engaged NHI / shot down UAPs. To use an analogy a handheld rechargeable drone is beyond comprehension to an ant but if it lands on an ant hill it would be swarmed and taken apart by said ants or its circuitry rendered inert by 100s of ants snooping around inside.
Scenario 4 is my least favourite, I just don't know how time travel to the past is possible based on our current understanding of the universe.
What are your thoughts? Feel free to add your own scenarios or completely dismantle mine. Any ideas among the 1000s of curious minds on this sub brings me great joy. Who knows maybe one of these scenarios is the real deal and it is staring right at us waiting to be confirmed through eventual disclosure (we can but hope).
