I used to get my basic acrylic yarn from Joann's, but now that they're gone I'm just buying randomly online what seems to be decent. What are your best stores (online or brick)?

I've been playing around with bead crochet ropes and having fun, and now I don't want to work this morning. Definite danger of creative hobbies....

I had no idea what to expect going into this. I figured if I combined a basic tank top with a circle skirt it might work out. I think it's decently decent.

Been making these for my kids and their friends. They work up quickly and impress 9 year olds pretty easily.

Muud Crochet Case (muudstore.com)
submitted 1 month ago by [email protected] to c/crochet

I am looking to purchase a crochet case from Muud for my wife's birthday. I have been looking at their website and my local yarn / craft store to find one but I am having the hardest time. I have found the Bea case but they say its for knitting needles but they have it under their crochet section. Does anyone know if this will work?

Title!

I'm currently making a Venipede stuffed toy - it might be a bit wacky, but it's mine ;) (it also makes me oddly oscillate from "that might not be enough yarn" to "I have a lot still, let's add another row!")

I also recently (or semi-recently?) made a Tokay gecko plushie from a modified version of a pattern by Ellie Skene - not sure if mbin/lemmy is gonna let me link it (please note that the pattern written out is in UK terms, so "dc" is single crochet for the US terms crew!)

meta note!anyone else noticed the only moderator here hasn't been active in 2 years? if anyone wants to step up maybe you can ask for mod status at [email protected]

A few months ago I was wondering what to get my girlfriend for her birthday. Her favourite animal is the guinea fowl, so when I saw a pattern for one, I decided I will learn to crochet and make her a guinea fowl plushie.

Well, after a lot of youtube tutorials, a few small and one medium-sized project, last week I decided it's time and started working on the bird.

Took me a few days of on and off crocheting, but I just finished and OMG, I love it!

It's certainly not perfect, the seams around the neck are absolutely tragic, but overall, I'm very happy with how it turned out.

This is my most ambitious project to date, the Faith CAL by Helen Shrimpton (with a few modifications).

What big or small blankets are you working on?

I am a complete beginner and I can tell that this is anything but a beginner pattern. Obviously this shouldn’t be the first project I attempt. However, could some of you maybe give me an idea of how ridiculous it would be to try this as one of my first 5 or so projects for example? How much experience would I need to work myself up to this? It looks so complicated.

Thought we could use a community for folks who craft handmade goods.

Hopefully we can get more artisans to join up, and folks who would like to purchase from & support independent artists & craftspeople from all around the world!

Could y'all spread the word to other crafty communities, as well?

(Mods feel free to remove this if it's not allowed!)

This came up in the rotation on the tv and it amused me. I tried asking it for a pattern but it was unresponsive 😂

It’s almost 6’ long! For an under 5’ woman. Thank you for the help in my first post last week! 🥰

I’m a knitter attempting crochet. Somehow I am skipping squares. 🤨. What am I doing wrong? I ripped out about a foot but damn. 😭

Just finished this little dino guy. It's my first time making an amigurumi and I underestimated the amount of sewing involved.
