DO NOT SPOIL THE ANIME WATCHERS

This is so that the anime watchers can sub to the community without worry of seeing posts that would spoil later parts of the story. This includes manga pages and panels, mentioning characters, fanart, etc.

Parent instance rules also apply, of course.

BUMP OF CHICKEN posted this official anime MV for the OP to their youtube account. I assume this means that the run for this OP has ended at this point after episode 13.

Dungeon Meshi is a well liked manga, and an adaptation by Studio Trigger is now airing. If you haven’t picked this one up, consider joining us. Both for fun and as a way of contributing to activity on Lemmy.

Episodes are available to stream on Netflix.

Well, crud. That victory really didn't last.

We finally have an appearance from a proper antagonist, the mad sorcerer. He is an ancient dark elf carrying a spell-book full of forbidden magic. And he's really not very happy about his pet dragon getting offed.

He seems to think that Falin is the red dragon, now. Or is the red dragon Falin?

Either way, she's taken away again, and the gang end up as a quartet, licking their wounds in the company of the orcs. As things look to be at their worst, Chilchuck has a crisis of conscience.

Remember not to spoil anything if you’re a manga reader, but feel free to elaborate on tidbits of lore that may not be coming through in the adaptation.

This wasn't too different in the adaptation. Mrs Tance actually has some lines in the manga, while she has remained silent in the anime. In the anime, she also does not accompany her husband to meet the Governor when they return to the surface. But only this one page of fluff was really left out completely.

After episode 12, we're on chapter 34 of the manga out of 97, on a series with a promised 24 episodes, by Trigger which has never done multiple seasons of any show, and which has adapted the story EXTREMELY close to the source without rushing anything.

Am i the only one worried about how the hell are they gonna adapt the remaining chapters in the remaining 12 episodes?

Unless Trigger breaks their streak and they actually have a second season of one of their shows for the first time in their history (I'm ABSOLUTELY IN if they do), i just don't see how they're gonna do it, they have NOT rushed any part of the story yet, and i don't see much if anything of the manga that could be safely cut without structurally compromising the story.

Do we know if they have promised an S2 or something? What do we know?

Last weeks episode ended on quite a cliffhanger, with Laios holding his sisters skull. We now find out how that turns out, with Marcille revealing what she's really an expert in.

Forbidden magic. The dark arts.

Using an illegal spell, she brings back Falin from nothing but bones, using the flesh of the dragon to fuel the spell.

And so, this arc concludes. With the gang, now joined by Falin, cooking up some goddamn dragon!!
