An alternative policy for Panama is to align with the rules based international order," he continued. "This includes establishing synergies with like-minded states which have been also affected by U.S. actions such as Canada, Mexico, Greenland, and Denmark. The country should seek to transcend the U.S.-China binary and find alternatives for alliances, which should include partners like the European Union."

Trump is still managing to keep all of the nations he is threatening to stay divided with China (and Russia). China building a ton of projects in Panama is certain to improve Panama more than keeping it isolated and undeveloped/threatened.

BlackRock led a group of investors in a $23 billion deal to purchase ports at both ends of the Panama Canal from a Hong Kong-based conglomerate

Blackrock is main investor/receiver of Ukraine land so far. Happened under Biden. It would seem that they have control on US behalf of Canal, and so invasion plans is proof to keep Panama undeveloped without other options.

Panama Canal uses freshwater for Locks. Global warming step up last 2 years has put the lake source under drought and reduced the Canal's capacity. A railway somewhere around Panama is a need to increase capacity of goods from Pacific to Atlantic, and provide resilience from drought conditions certain to worsen.

The benefits are entirely "controlling global oil prices/supply". With the US all-in on climate terrorism, control of Israel helps control regional powers that also profit from climate destroying energy and delaying transition.

So, the only benefit is not an actual human sustainability benefit. It's an extreme cost.

The more obvious direct costs are paying for all the weapons, and the resentment that will lead to terrorism against Israel's allies. The fascism directed against those who protest genocide, is furthermore a step towards more intense fascism.

China has asked/threatened Egypt to close suez canal to military ships. It has radar ships in Persian Gulf. Asked Oman to not cooperate on airspace. Flurry of diplomatic calls today including Russia readout of more committed support for Iran.

Israel is threatening Pakistan next.

Trump's single focus on Ukrainian negotiations was always Russia distancing with Iran, and a quicker victory/peace is an easy bribe for Russia to accept.

But, OP, suggests deeper Iranian miscalculation for an independent path.

Diego Garcia can be destroyed by 3 countries within range: Iran, Pakistan, China. A nuclear strike would just kill military and signal a "not fucking around" posture.

Fucking around and waiting is world's Chamberlain moment.

Whether US assists Israel's defense or attacks is a function of threats made against it.

The trade war BS gives US the power to stop that BS in exchange for G7 slave colonies supporting its zionazi warmongering genocide.

The US can bribe Russia with less Ukraine support. Can declare victory over China's fentanyl measures.

Apparently, US carrier fleet is coming towards Persian Gulf for clearly unfriendly reasons. Whether anyone explicitly/directly helps Iran eliminate it or Tel Aviv, or threatens to, determines course of war.

US retains bribery/extortion power to make world sacrifice Iran, I expect.

Closing straights of Hormuz is less precise than controlling access to that and Red sea. Exchanging military support for both access to its energy, and others.

Helping Iraq liberate itself from US is key to it replacing its US controlled treasury with new oil revenue. Europe would choose between US and Russian supplies, and so this would be yet another US extortion war vector on Europe.

KSA would still be able to get through Suez, but others wouldn't.

Pushing over Russian red lines is what got Ukraine special military operation. It can result in strikes on NATO eventually too. US political leadership attempting to resolve situation may protect them more than its colonies still in rabid Russophobia/CIA deep state mode.

Ukraine would owe familied $2B if it accepted the bodies. Victims of nazi regime coercion that will sacrifice every last conscript for anti-Russia empire geopolitics, see it as last straw against their cannon fodder slavery.

6000 soldiers since last month is also a very large number that has averaged 1000 or so per month. 10 to 1 ratio of Ukrainian to Russian dead, btw, at least over last year.

Citing costs of F35 and Abrahms tanks.

Chinese Aluminum pries are 1/3 and Steel prices 1/2 of US, and so ironically, one of the few import countries that can compete with inflated protectionist US prices.

Canada has taken an embarrassingly weak response to US attack on it. Still cooperating with US miltary, and yet to cancel F35s and other weapons purchases.

I guess the collective western public timidity can get Trump to TACO with private non movement over time, but more aggressive expansion of international relationships without confronting US evil would be more proactive while still publicly timid. Instead process looks like gaslighting their own people until further subjugation is imposed on them.
