Plasma 6 Bugs

If you encounter a bug, proceed to https://bugs.kde.org/, check whether it has been reported.

If it hasn't, report it yourself.

PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING HERE.

Developers do not look for reports on social media, so they will not see it and all it does is clutter up the feed.

Don't miss Joseph P. De Veaugh-Geiss' talk at #FOSDEM!

Joseph, community manager of the @be4foss project, will talk about how IT accounts for 2-3% of global CO2 emissions and how FLOSS and moving to a circular economy can help reduce these emissions.

Running Fedora KDE, I've got two monitors side by side. If I move the mouse slowly from one to the other, it seems to catch on the edge between. It makes interacting with things near the edges of the monitor a pain in the ass, if I overshoot with a large gesture to move the mouse to that region and then some unseen force prevents me from precisely moving the mouse back.

I can't find anything in the settings menu that sounds like it would turn this off. How do I turn this off? It needs to be turned off. I intensely hate it.

The next major release of Kdenlive brings a 300% performance boost for generating audio thumbnails, along with higher-resolution waveforms for greater precision and a refactored sampling method that accurately renders the audio signal. This remarkable work was done by @etiandre and was made possible thanks to your generous contributions to our fundraiser campaign.

Check out all the details at:

Both Mastodon & Bluesky suggest that you add alt text to images to improve accessibility for the visually impaired
The text is not retained

How can I add alt text to my image files, ideally when I import the files ? Tags I make with Dolphin or Digikam aren't visible except where they're made

Thought I'd ask here before I start submitting feature requests

I'm using KDE Connect to share between an iPhone and a machine running Ubuntu 22.04. For the most part, it works as expected, but clipboard sharing only happens one way.

The problem seems to be that whenever a connection is established between the phone and PC, the phone's clipboard is automatically overwritten with whatever is on the PC's clipboard. If I navigate away from the KDE Connect app to another app to copy some content, the connection is lost. When I navigate back to the app, the connection is re-established, but the iPhone clipboard is again overwritten by the PC.

I'm not sure how to work around this problem. Any advice from the community would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

When pressing Super-E when Dolphin is already open, I would like for the existing window to be unminimized and for a new tab to be created, rather than a new window.

How to do this ?

Thanks

Hello everyone!

I have the events from Nextcloud show up in the calendar, and that all works fine, but every update (at least I think it's due to updates) it all gets deselected and I have to tick the boxes again for events to show up.

I wouldn't mind even a hacky solution like a cron job to run at every boot or something like that - but I don't know where calendar settings are stored/configured.

Any help/advice is welcome!
Thanks!

@kde I've been using Global Menu for a while, but since it is less and less supported, I've finally removed the widget.

However, I did not get the local menu back! Now all my KDE apps have no menu at all.

I thought that restarting the session would fix it, but it did not help. Anybody has any hint on how to fix this?

Hi All,

So suddenly, my digiKam crashes with the following error messages:

Qt: Session management error: Could not open network socket
digikam.general: DK_PLUGIN_PATH env.variable detected. We will use it to load plugin...
digikam.dnnmodelmanager: Cannot find DNN models path
digikam.dnnmodelmanager: Cannot find DNN models path
Path override failed for key base::DIR_APP_DICTIONARIES and path '/snap/digikam/95/usr/bin/qtwebengine_dictionaries'
[6440:6440:0116/182606.271718:FATAL:credentials.cc(126)] Check failed: . : Permission denied (13)
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

I've been looking all over to try and find a solution, but I can only find old stuff. I do not seem to have the file '/snap/digikam/95/usr/bin/qtwebengine_dictionaries" so that is probably the problem, but I don't know how to install it.

This is running digiKam from a snap. Kubuntu 24.04.1 LTS x86_64 Plasma 5.27.11

If anybody can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. It broke by itself, so I have been waiting a week or so to see if it would mend itself, but that does not seem to be happening.

Thanks!!
