This is obviously a very small community right now - maybe that will always be the case, but quality > quantity every time.

In the meantime, I want to open a long-term, open discussion about the content I'd like to strive for in the community.

News: This goes without saying, but any news pertaining to the province is welcome, from all reputable sources.

Events: I'd love to see content about events provincewide.

Non-Winnipeg content: I personally want to know what's going on everywhere, not just in the biggest urban centre.

Conversation: This might be the trickiest one right now - upvotes are great, but a community thrives on actual interactions.

Creativity: Everything I haven't thought to include above.

The Conflict of Interest Act came into effect yesterday, and with it comes this new web portal. Per the site:

This website provides information on the obligations of Members and Ministers. It explains the meaning of "conflict of interest" and what a member must do if one arises. It explains the process for making complaints and investigating alleged breaches of the Act and contains reports on the results of those investigations.

Members are required to disclose most of their assets, liabilities and sources of income (subject to some exceptions), as well as gifts and private air travel.
