Modded Minecraft

I hope to have some fun in 1.20 myself. Been kinda disconnected the last year or so, but I have plans, that'll make steamdeck control input a bit more fun.

I had a lot of fun with Tekkit 2 and this was my final base!

Anyone have links to any documentation for getting modded MC to run on a steam deck? There are some mods I'd love to play with that just eat too much RAM on my little MacBook. Particularly if there's a guide for getting technic launcher mods running that would be great, but if it comes down to it I'd be willing to manually put together the mods I'm interested in. Thanks!

A remake of an old favorite, Fuzs has updated the Mutant Beasts mod for modern versions of Minecraft for Forge and Fabric.

This mod adds in several boss versions of vanilla mobs that have a small chance to spawn instead of their standard counterparts. These boss mobs are surprisingly well made and when killed they drop powerful albeit gimmicky weapons. This mod also has a good config allowing you to change the spawn rate of each mob.

In my personal packs I like to turn down most of the mutants' odds of spawning in order to make each encounter feel more special and so I'm less likely to get bodied in the early game.

As per title. I'm back to modded after a few years, but I'm rather clueless on which version is currently popular.

Bonus question: what are the most common industrial mods nowadays? And are people building their own packs, or downloading them whole?

What mod or update to a mod are you most looking forward to? The update I most look forward to is Create. The mock-ups of giant flying bases looks great.
