It's seems right that we should have a local community to help us all with PieFed

Hey all! Weve just moved our comm from [email protected] to [email protected] How long will it take for posts to go over? Right now almost nothing is showing and it's been about 12 hours

The copy feed option doesn't seem to work. I can however create a new feed, just not copy an existing one.

Do I need to use a third-party service to host an image before posting an image into a comment?

As far as I remember, it was straight forward in Lemmy/Mbin

I am old school and I've never been able to move beyond "sort by old" (we are talking almost 30 years of using what is now positioned as "social media").

Is there a possibility of "sort by old" being added to the comment sorting defaults? :)

Hi,

I wanted to update the sidebar of [email protected] (recently moved from lemm.ee and sidebar makes references to lemm.ee rules).

Is there a URL for piefed.social rules that I could link?

Thanks

When I try to add my PieFed account to Voyager, the captcha doesn't display, making it impossible to go any further. This is on iOS 18.5 and Voyager version 2.35.1. Thanks!

With Voyager you can mark certain communities as favourites, and there is a very convenient drop-down list for quickly jumping to the favourites. Is there similar functionality with PieFed?

Hey there!
I tried to migrate one of my communities from Lemm.ee and it got most of it very well! Thanks for that.
Bad thing is I can't moderate anything, assign moderators or invite anyone. How long will I have to wait for that?

I already created an account on piefed.social but noticed a lot of the lemmynsfw comms are blocked so I assume everything porn is blocked, hence this post.
Is there an instance on PieFed that allows porn/hentai and where I could create a community that’s only in spanish? Even better if it isn’t hosted on the USA.

On a different note, I think this comm isn't federating properly, I tried asking this question from lemmy.cafe but it seems it didn't work.

I've been using Lemmy a couple of months, and now trying out Piefed.

Questions about community subscriptions:

  1. So by ticking the "topics" boxes during registration, I am now subscribed to a bunch of communities, right? Or am I subscribed to "topics"? Or "feeds"?

  2. What's the difference between Lemmy-style communities and Piefed's "topics" and "feeds"?

  3. How can I see which communities/topics/feeds I'm subscribed to?
(I saw a list once, I think on the home page, but for some reason I've never been able to find it again.)
Ah, I found https://piefed.social/communities but not through the Piefed UI, only via https://join.piefed.social/docs/user-guide/

  4. How can I find the Communities list in the Piefed UI?

  5. Re importing my community subscriptions and community blocks from my Lemmy account, what file do I need? Is it Lemmy > Settings > Export Settings: lemmy_user_settings_dateandtime.json ?

  • 5.1 And will that overwrite or supplement my existing Piefed subscriptions?
  • 5.2 Wait, did Piefed already include my existing Lemmy community subscriptions??? Or is it just luck/topic-picking-on-sign-up that they seem to be included among all the others?

I have a post I made from Piefed and someone suggested I cross post to another spot. I can't seem to figure out how to crosspost in PieFed though. Is there a way or is that not yet implemented?

Regardless, Piefed is amazing and thank you so much to everyone here! :-)

So my prefered way to fediscroll is to go through all and remove communities I have no interest in and subscribe to things I like so that at some point in the future if all is to cumbersome I can do the subscribe area. One thing I block is meme communities and oh boy it gets tiresome because everyone seems to want to make one. several leapards ate my face, 196, and other ones reposting from other social media and then meme wise there is just no end. I have been tempted to put a keyword block for meme and bombass and things like 196 or leapardsatemyface but I only want them to block communities based on the title or description pretty much but im not sure if key word blocking will block like a user comment that says meme in it or something. Can anyone help me understand how keyword blocking works?
