If you don't cheese it out of the gate and just try to macro, lord have mercy. The bot will max out with the swiftness after you beat down it's army. This AI I think is the best for pure macro. I have put it up against terran and protoss and everytime the zerg bot has crushed the opposition. It can be beat, but my goodness will it make you work for it.

No circuit announcement. Probably not part of EWC (according to the Chinese sc2 insider). Pro players competing in weekly $400 tournaments (community support). Professional teams start dropping players due to lack of revenue. Players leaving the scene for jobs with better income. Casters started looking for other games like Deadlock.

It was fun while it lasted.

With all the drama with EWC and Korean retirements there is a small way you can influence future of Korean competitive SC2.

GSL Patreon is still active.

It may not mean much in case EWC is not announced since GSL prize pool will not be enough to support Korean players, and I understand people hate paying in advance for something that may never happen, but even if that happens I will consider my few dollars as thank you for all the nice stuff GSL did in past 14 years.

That said I still hope my few bucks may increase chance of 2025 GSL by 0.001% and that may be the little thing pushing EWC to decide to keep SC2. Unlikely? Very! But I think it is worth a shot.

Just like 10 seconds ago, in his olimo league broadcast, Crank said Oliveira won't play december finals of Olimo league because he will quit if EWC isn't announced and he decided to drop out when Chess was announced as a game a couple days ago. He also said that "many Korean pros also have declared they will quit SC2 if EWC SC2 isn't announced."

P.S. Also Crank: "I'm 99% sure SC2 won't be in EWC."

I've seen a few discussions over an age-long question of "How do I play vs maxed out skytoss/mech" (not even always from Zerg) and without fail, the most popular answer is "Don't let them get there".

The problem is, we see skytoss/mech coming online all the time even in proplay despite opponent's best efforts, and from that point, game is over unless personal skill difference is massive.

Wouldn't it be better to have armies capable of dealing with each other at every point in the game so that going offensive vs defensive is more of a stylistic choice (like some T prefer bio, some prefer mech in TvZ and TvT, some Z prefer roaches vs hellion harass and 2-1-1, some Z prefer lings in same case)?

Something like TvT vs mech - playing bio vs mech is hard but ravens and doomdrops create mutual avenues for interaction all the way from the beginning of the game to the end; mutalisks in ZvZ where you can either try to kill mutalisk player early with agression or instead defend with spores and queens with transition into infestor-viper-(hydra) combo; PvT where protoss has 2-3-4 gate blink openers as greedy-safe-agressive.

Lately we see Zerg pros going all-in vs any skytoss transition because the answer is actually only "don't let them get there". Result is a stomp from either side - either all-in suceeds and protoss dies, or all-in fails and zerg dies. We don't see any of lategame Z vs lategame P, game is decided before that.

My question is - is it really a good thing to create strategies that don't have a direct counter once they "got there"? Some of the most annoying metas in game are strategies who routinely got the answer of "Don't let them get there" as counterplay (swarmhost in HotS, carrier in WoL PvP, broodlord infestor TWICE - in WoL and in LotV) and eventually proplayers found a way to consistently "get there".

Here are some of mine.

I was a little girl when i got my hands on original SC1. In episode 3 when you play as Protoss, zealots had such scary voices and made scary sounds that i thought i was playing as bad guys XD

Or

I thought that SCV was operated by some alien because how weird unit portrait looked to me.

Warfield managed to punch a hydralisk to the trench wall and hydralisks are heavy as a car.

So can a Terran marine kill a single small Zerg creature like a Zergling or a Drone with bare hands?
