Does librewolf or any other alternatives offer syncing between devices? I know it's not a great thing for privacy, but I find it really helpful for work to have easy access to different tabs, passwords and stuff between my phone, laptop and desktop. I would love to switch from mozilla, but that's what's currently keeping me...
@Acamon
Aaaand i used a search engine for you: https://librewolf.net/docs/faq/#can-i-use-firefox-sync-with-librewolf-is-it-safe-to-do-so
But you can even self host your own sync server: https://github.com/mozilla-services/syncserver
@katzenberger
Sometimes it's nice to talk to other people 🤷♀️
You're awesome! Thanks. That's wild that your can host your own syncsever, the community is brilliant.
Librewolf does, though you have to enable it first. Work fine for me. Never really had an issue with it.
Could just install a password manager. Bitwarden or Keepass+ syncthing
That's good for passwords, but it's also the syncing of tabs and search history and stuff. When I'm working on my laptop I want to be able to easily find the random journal article I had open on my desktop.
I appreciate the convenience of cloud history is at odds with privacy. But being able to selfhost a syncing server, or to keep a private log on a cloud storage space that only my devices had access to should be possible... But it's probably not a priority for many folks.
@Acamon
I do not use any syncing features, sorry, can't say.
