So… it continues to be a mess.
Thing is, I don’t think the RCMP wants to police Surrey, which has been its largest detachment nation-wide for years.
But attempting to form a municipal police force has highlighted that NOBODY wants to police Surrey for the price the RCMP was being paid.
I can tell you that the cops training the SPS have changed from "maybe don't do that" to a bit of "try it and see LoL" because they re just not getting it. They've 4% given up because too many of the SPS recruits could not be cops otherwise. It's going to go very badly.
The mounties want to police surrey. It's their job and it's what the people want.
I'm sorry for the NDP and David Eby that his reelection bid will be greatly affected by the thousands in surrey who've been told Fuck Your Vote. They may come out and say Fuck Your Cabinet, and everyone not named Farnworth should not be painted by that same heavy brush.
I really hope people aren't such myopic single issue voters. This government has been one of the most competent and productive in the country.
