I did...I want to say about 35 hours?

And I also supplemented with a g25 wheel/pedal set and ETS2.
Which helped more than you might expect (gear positions, clutch control, dealing with other traffic, blind spots)

G25 has been lent out to multiple friends to do the same thing too, so definitely paid for itself.

Theory, once you're paying attention to the road in general, isn't too bad at all. I paid about a fiver for month's access to a revision website, which had the material, and almost identical hazard perception clips.

You're allowed (iirc) 15 minors and still get a pass.

Minor issues are generally things that are mistakes, but mild enough that so long as you work to improve, the examiner is happy to pass you.

The same categories also have Major versions (1 fault fails the test) and Dangerous (1 fault halts the test entirely).

Control steering might be that OP had slightly sub optimal wheel technique, which meant they had a moment the examiner would have like to have seen both hands on.

Move off control might mean that they dumped the clutch a bit pulling away one time, and it wasn't smooth.

Awareness/Planning/Junction right could all have happened in the same manoeuvre (candidate hesitating at a junction, and pulling out after a car they could have comfortably gone before if they were more aware)

Progress: Appropriate speed can be missing that a speed limit has changed from 20 to 30, then accelerating when you realise.

I've still got the rap sheet from when I passed, and you can be damned sure after passing I was ironing them out.

I've genuinely considered moving there.

They have a radio station, and it's run by the chillest guy ever. Just playing tunes, and chatting between.

Seeing the photos, and having been around way too many deceased estate properties, I can instantly smell the whole place.
Damp, old plaster, manky carpets, and the bathroom that smells faintly of old wee and Imperial Leather.

ICE can be a lot cheaper if you book ahead.
Non-ICE on the Deutschlandticket is a goddamned bargain, so long as you navigate the gotchas on the payment and recurring.

Or in a similar vein, the ship's cat has evolved into a suave humanoid with impeccable taste in fashion.

Was the MSP in the environment at the time?

That's really interesting. So what you're saying is, Germany sold more to the states than they bought, but the states were able to "keep" the money by marking off that Germany had so much gold.

And I guess now, Germany is concerned that the states may no longer honour that ledger.

And now we just wait for the inevitable US lift of the embargo, while conveniently forgetting to apply the tariffs.

Alleyway of origin, more like.

I think I've said before; If I can't be certain of the origin of the chicken, I just won't eat it in the future.

This was very much a me mistake, so apologies from me.

The long story short, is that we were migrating the domain between accounts.

As the previous DNS records would be wiped during transfer, we made backups, and started the process.
This morning, the "approve transfer" button was lit.
A sensible person would have gone "perfect, lets get this scheduled".
Instead, I just pressed the button.

Unfortunately, when you transfer, and are keeping continuity, you should always make sure the receiving account is ready to re-apply the settings.
I didn't, and the receiving account owner was happily asleep. 100% my bad!

All sorted now (hopefully).
There might be some weirdness while DNS updates propagate through the various caches.

I think the lessons learned are pretty obvious:

  • Consider how noticeable downtime will be, and schedule with this in mind.
  • Check that your counterpart is online when transferring a domain.
  • Always schedule a maintenance window, even if you get excited when the button activates.

Apology from me. We're moving some things around on the back end, and my non-thinking brain didn't think to check another admin was online before handing over control of a system to them.

Hopefully, feddit.uk will be back up before the end of the day, assuming nothing horrid happens.

Years ago, I switched my mayo from Hellman's to Heinz, because the bottle design meant there was less transfer loss.

How the tables turn: I'm back on Hellman's for mayo, and they do a well reviewed ketchup too now.

(Hellman's is Unilever, a UK based company. Although they're apparently being shits to Ben and Jerry now...)
