NGL. I've been foodstamp assistance eligibile for most of my working life. I've also religiously seen a dentist twice a year, without fail, for well over the last 40 years.

If you are blessed with trouble-free health (I know not everyone is..) forget the doctor and get yourself a dentist.

Also do not drink cola or any soda pop with phosphoric acid in it - that shit will eat the enamel off your teeth..

Teeth ARE the front end of health.

Getting to all of one's content is the rub. You can't delete more than a years' worth of comments. Reddit locked all the older posts and threads down once the IPO dropped, so they could privatize it and sell it for AI training. Last October, I got permabanned after 14 years there, and could only delete my comments that went back as October 2024.

Weirdly enough, someone (or a bot doing some training?) randomly responded to an ancient (over 7 years ago) comment I made and it popped up in my Reddit mailbox.. Shouldn't be able to get replies as content that old is usually archived and static. But not this. Hmmm. I of course deleted it and worked my way though as many of the threads under that post to find any other comments I may have made, but I could not get to any other content that was as old.

I still maintain a few logins to swing through and check for any more of my content coming up.. Going to get as much of it gone as I can. I'm patient.

They're kicking the actual humans off. Permabans galore.

Last time I did... it wasn't good.

Not rotting in a box?

when was this gem posted?

Golden Attributes indeed! could you actually try this and post the real results?

Honestly, it could be a banger if it becomes a newsworthy bit of field investigating and reporting on how shit LLMs actually are.

Johnny Bagadonuts.

Lenny "Short Eyes" (he likes 'em young!)

I think Steven Seagal is still alive.. maybe?

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 days ago

Hmmm. Not sure of which scene, but anything with Rowan Atkinson is valid!

Yaah.. naah.

I'd just pull the drive, reinstall on a new one, redownload the games and go merrily on my way. I have ZERO on the machine that is so important that I'd do anything other than that.

NGL, it's current install is getting a bit cluttered since the last time I redid it with a full erase and reformat, so it wouldn't be too terrible.

I don't even have an email account set up on the device.

Kinda grim definitely. Rather like life.

One of my underrated faves.

Enjoy!

Super cold in the Northeast US..

Plumber removed a backroom sink a few months ago.. A sink that tapped directly into a blackwater line under a toilet. Apparently, one of the days - or overnights most likely - when the temp went well below zero farenheits.. the drain line under the floorboards froze and the inevitable happened.

I got to clean it up.

Oh, the joys of being the "property-manager/fixit girl" (that literally lives around the block) for a small business.

Welp, at least I'm the least disposable in the company, as when shit like this happens, no one else wants to tackle it, so I suppose that's good...

FML.

That is all..

One of the best compendia of Who lore online. Been reading the site almost as long as it's been up and the Time Lord history pages are mind-boggling.

Everything is sourced and the red, orange and yellow text is pretty much the "official" canon (as much as it can be, given how many decades and writers have been involved with the program..) and it's LONG.

Brew up a cuppa, get comfy and settle in and enjoy!

It's a cute - really is - field mouse that came in this past summer (I think as that is the only time I keep windows open) and it's been roaming around the apartment.

It disappears for a few days at a time - perhaps visiting other units? Not sure. When I see it and it sees me seeing it, it zooms back under the cabinets. Am keeping my food well out of reach and the kitchen spotless so it's got no reason to stick around.

What's the comms ideas for the best, safest trap to catch and release - preferable something I can make with household items.

Much thanks to anyone with ideas!

Edited to add: Addndum, Jan 10th, 2026.. I set out a bucket trap and the tan egg never re-apeared.

So either it got back out, died or on one of its other visits to a different part of the building, it fell into a trap.

Dunno. Haven't seen it in weeks.

This is called Glass Gem and it's beautiful! I wonder how it tastes..

That is all.

I've seen a lot of statements made all over the internet and in how-to guides in weekly newspapers and the like, on how to best deal with cast iron skillets..

So here's my own, the large Griswold skillet and the smaller, unknown make, egg pan came from my grandparents - they cooked for decades on them and in fact the egg pan is one of the "old" pieces my grandmother got from HER grandmother.

They were cleaned with a stainless steel scouring pads for as long as I can remember, and we're talking early 1970's. I use stainless steel Chore Boys on them. The mid-sized Griswold saucier pan, is one I found at a yard sale some 30 years ago.. It was black with the baked-on acrylamides and it's almost finally scrubbed clean of all that nasty black gunk.

It's kind of the reason why I'm not that famous on Lodge pans - they've got that texture to them that catches the baked on seasoning and it's hard to get super clean.

I season - just wash, dry and wipe with coconut oil and bake for 45 minutes or so at 350 degrees, every 6 months.

I store them in my oven proper, with a light coat of coconut oil on them. All three are close to mirror smooth from being steel polished for decades and with a light amount of cooking oil (usually coconut) seldom does food stick.

Yeah, this is good.

This guy's got the loudest feet in the industry. Just a guy and a guitar and two big tapping feet. Been playing since the early 70's. Definitely a fantastic live show, have seen him multiple times. If you live on the east coast of the US and he's playing nearby, go see him perform. Can't recommend it enough.

Enjoy!

One of the more underrated Eurythmics albums. Was overlooked at the time it was released as it was a film soundtrack and contains instrumentals, (so that kinda made it less a "real" Eurythmics album than a non-soundtrack record, which is bullshit but there it was) and a few of the tracks like Julia and For the Love of Big Brother are hauntng examples of the range that Annie Lennox has. The track Sexcrime got modest radio airplay, but the rest of the songs were ignored, which was a shame.

Enjoy!

If you ever want to dip into a vast trove of songs, this guy's stuff is it. Straight up, one of Australia's Best Kept Musical Secrets and if you ever get a chance to see him live, do it. (I've done so twice) He's got one of the tightest bands you'll ever hear. Amazing songwriter, awesome human. One of my all-time faves.

Enjoy!
