Edit: Found one!!
https://thesearxng.vercel.app/search?q=%25s

Drawback is it doesn't seem to support adding settings at the end of the string (e.g. &category_general=on&language=en-US&theme=simple)

I feel like this exists but I forgot to bookmark it and I'm having a hell of a time finding it if it does exist (largely due to broken SearXNG instances argh!) In my experience each one I save into Fennec via search string only lasts a few months before it breaks intermittently or entirely. I'd rather use a link that picks one at random and is thus more likely to just return results without too much fiddling.

Yes ideally I'd host my own... it's on my miles long to-do list...

to play devils advoc—you know what nvm, full transparency I'm a moderate authoritarian so feel free to judge the following according to your own ideals

authoritarianism has colloquially come to be nearly synonymous with fascism but I don't think it should be. things like

  • "I think the government should protect citizens from price gouging"
  • "I think the freedom of expression should be protected to the maximum extent that excludes violent intolerance"
  • "I think environmental regulation is necessary to protect public health and the natural world"

are authoritarian stances because they involve control of individuals' actions by authorities

too little control by official authorities often results in power vacuums that give others (usually corporations) de facto control for the worse

I often encourage fellow leftists to reevaluate their stance on authoritarianism after taking this into account

that being said, the corrupting nature of power is an unsolved problem and governments historically described as authoritarian came by their bad reputation honestly. :[

spooky looking. would make a fun spin on the classic "scary statue" horror game enemy

the left wing "influencers" I can name off the top of my head:

  • J.T. (Second Thought), Hakim, & Yugopnik (The Deprogram)
  • Cody Johnston & Katy Stoll (Some More News)
  • Roz, Liam, Nova, & Gareth (Well There's Your Problem)
  • Jake Flores, Alex Ptak & Anders Lee (Pod Damn America)

but yeah none of them use the types of manipulative communication that got Tate and Peterson so famous in the mainstream, for better or worse 🤷‍♀️

when I was a broke student living in a studio apartment with no built-in I got me a countertop dishwasher that plugged into the sink with a quick-release hose and that was $200 well spent (got it secondhand, new ones can be a bit pricier)

I had it on a metal rack next to the sink because my countertop space was nonexistent lol. A lot of people put them on rolling racks so they can be moved elsewhere for storage

Yep, first gen

I loved my Pebbles but the reason I owned 2 was that the first one's screen degraded after like 1.5 years and the second one degraded after about 8 months

If it had better longevity I'd still be using it

that... seems like it would have lasting implications for the self esteem of the kids depending on whether they were branded "smartest" or not 💀

It's probably a difference of ~20¢ when I fill it yeah, lol. And doesn't seem to be causing any knocking or other ill effects so no change at worst and real/perceived improvement at best yeah

I keep going back and forth about whether I'm imagining it gives better performance or it actually does 😅

I vaguely knew "higher octane" didn't mean higher percentage of 8-C hydrocarbons but definitely believed the misconception that it was higher energy density. Hm.

It definitely doesn't have much in the way of sensors (though it does seem to adjust the idle speed in cold weather through some mechanism). It has spark plugs and a carburetor so no dice on coil on pack ignition or fuel injection.

The mechanic I took it to did say he thought it would run better in cold weather with higher octane fuel but didn't elaborate.

Another carved rutabaga for this year

I have tried:
• air drying (takes too long, extends wet hair misery)
• having short hair (can't have short hair at one of my jobs)
• dryer bonnet (somewhat better cuz at least I can sorta multitask)
• sitting in front of box fan (takes too long)
• paying hairdresser to do it (expensive)

Figured I'd see if you guys know any tips and tricks...
