As a dad I approve of this message. I mainly use this instance for news which by default is open to interpretation & requires a little extra effort than I would expect anyone as young as 13 to automatically engage with.

I get that. Input lag via HDMI is also annoying if you're used to 1ms on desktop then get hit with that 3ms due to hardware constraints. That's why if I had the income I would absolutely get my hands on a desktop grade laptop not for the portability but for the raw performance.

never once has a lenovo laptop fail me when using Linux. I know the prices depending on your preference might not be amazing but second hand there are some bangers out there like it never hurts to check your local repair shop or recycling operation.

I love yt-dlp because it has built in sponsorblock & no ads obviously all you need is storage and patience to sort what you want to watch.

Unfortunately it's not compatible with my pixel :( I know where to find the shows it's just annoying the only device I have that's officially supported is a smart TV i.e. Vizio & LG.

Disney, Hulu & Max have a decent bundle although I don't enjoy the $30 a month price tag for no ads. Paramount has some good content but I don't think it's worth the upfront cost. Apple TV & peacock aren't worth the price especially since apple requires proprietary hardware.
