Wherever I upvote a post and then refresh, it completely disappears, even if I go to that specific community.

I don't have "Hide posts on view" or whatever turned on so I'm not sure where this setting is because I'm not even viewing the post - I'm just upvoting it.

If I go to "about community" in a community, and I tap back (to close the "about community," from a UX perspective), it leaves the community and goes back to the previous view. This is the same behavior as if I tapped back while viewing the community.

In my opinion, it would be better to make back close the "about community" view and return to the community.

I have the toggle 'High refresh rate' disabled, if that is of any use

Posting this hoping the Connect dev can see it.

In the list of posts, we can see the comments icon, followed by the number of comments, and then something like (+5) if there are 5 new comments since our last visit.

Is it possible to change the color of these new comments in the comments list? It would be much easier to find them that way.

Title. It's pretty common for me to hit one of these trying to hit the other, then I have to navigate down a gigantic blocked list to unblock them.

And/or, could blocks be displayed newest-first, so navigation to recent blocks is quicker?

First off, thanks for making the transition from rif/reddit to Lemmy so seamless. I especially love the ease to hide posts and comments.

The only thing I think is missing is a way to block communities based on keywords. Like a way to block every community with a certain string in it's name like "memes" or "thoughts"

Is it possible that y'all could add a language feature in settings? I speak 3 languages, but can only read one, English. There are so many posts here that I have to skip because they're either written in Spanish, French, or sometimes German.

Are there plans to be able to open links In the app (on Android). All clients I try can not do this for some reason.

Is it possible to block bots? I see a ton of archival bots that repost content from reddit. No one interacts with these posts and I don't care to see them. I have tried using the block user function, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm not sure if this is a lemmy issue or a Connect issue. When I go to the bot profile page, it always times out. I'm assuming that is because there are so many posts from the bots. Anyone else have any experience with this?

Image seems to fully load, then I get a dead image link. Is this a bug or the server?

I know it isnt exclusive to Connect, i noticed it too on other social media apps like facebook (don't judge me xd), and its the same effect: app start to slow scroll when reaching old posts from months ago or even years ago. Could extra ram help circumvent this ? my phone has 4gb ram, i am planning on upgrading for a phone that uses 8gb of ram+8gb of swap, would that help in this case ? thanks.

How can I set the language of a post before I submit it? All my posts with connect app are undefined.

Today I noticed that refreshing my home feed (topday) was dramatically changing the results I would see, especially on posts that I knew were less than 24hrs old. I started opening the comments on the top post and refreshing home, and the post would go away. I was aware of the "Hide Read Posts" setting, so I went and confirmed it was off. I switched it on and off again to see if setting it to off again would do it, but no. Closed app, force stop app, no change.

UPDATE: There is a setting in Lemmy for "Show read posts" which had become unchecked on my account. I don't use lemmy directly -- I only use lemmy through the connect app. Perhaps lemmy reset this setting, but it's possible that the app updated this setting incorrectly? I'll remove the post if this is ruled out.

Seems like sort by date is the only sorting method at the moment.

ATM I can choose only among Frontpage, Local, and All

When switching accounts there's some weird behavior if global settings are switched off (both accounts have their own settings). After switch all the settings are either set back to default or partially changed.

For example one time it changed text color to black against black background so it was very difficult to navigate the app to change it back to normal (I could only see black). Sometimes it still shows the correct setting on the settings menu but I have to reset it to the same value in order to make it effective.

It would be useful to also have a safety feature on the app that doesn't let text color ever be too similar to background color regardless of the theme settings. I don't think there's any use case for all text to be invisible in the app.

I'm getting weirdness trying to scroll to top on the latest beta. It seems to endlessly scroll the same articles and never reaches the top. Also, when I hit the refresh option from the menu it used to go to the top and no longer does - I have to go and find the Frontpage option in the sidebar to get to the top (quite laborious). Can we get a "back to top" button? Or maybe a "go to my default page" button on the top bar?

Hi team, thanks for creating such a nice app, just switched from jerboa and I much prefer the UI on connect. I'm not sure if it's just me but gifs don't seem to play unless I open them in an external browser?
