COMICLIST: NEW COMIC BOOK RELEASES LIST FOR 10/11/2023

Had to take a break for a few weeks to deal with some medical stuff, but I am back!

Here some of the stuff I'm following! Check the big list and see what strikes your fancy! Or, you know, the sub-fancy. That whole area.

Cull #3 - Still love the art, not sure on the story yet, seems like a slow start.

Danger Street #10 - Getting near the end, hope it starts making sense soon. ;)

Green Lantern #4 - Glad to see it's recovered from the 2 month crossover hiatus

Hunger And The Dusk #3 - Been decent high fantasy so far!

Madness #3 - Wait... did I miss #2?

Magneto #3 - 80s Vintage professor Magneto.

Moon Knight City Of The Dead #4 - I'm torn, on the one hand, this is the sequel to the TV show and it works!

Not All Robots TP (New Edition) - Super good read if you missed the individual issues.

Spider-Man India #5 - Final issue! Been fun! Womdering how long it will take for him to jump to the 616. ;)

Superboy The Man Of Tomorrow #6 - Wrapping up this series of the New Dawn Super-Stories.

Superman Lost #7 - The PTSD Supes story is one of the best in years

Wesley Dodds The Sandman #1 - Really looking forward to this. Golden Age Sandman, Flash, and Green Lantern are getting their own 6 issue minis!

World’s Finest Teen Titans #4 - Love the vintage look on this run.

To get this community back on track: What are you currently reading? Did you discover any classics, find a new not well known series or the artist you've been looking for?

I'll start with Giant Days. I missed it when it was originally published, but started reading Bad Machinery two years ago and fell in love with John Allison's quirky writing and am buying anything with his name on it.

One of my favorite books right now is Newburn by Chip Zdarsky and Jacob Philips. It's has a lot of suspense and Jacob Philips is at least as good as his father.

And i read X-Amount of Comics by Don Simpson. This is a parody/follow up to Alan Moore's 1963 which was published in 1993 and had an announced Annual that never appeared. It's interesting to read Simpsons's account of what happened in the bonus material. The main story on the other hand didn't quite live up to my expectations. It was just a string of one off quips and cameos that didn't really go anywhere.

This is the first comic strip from my philosophy webcomic Noumena. A new strip just went online, but it might be easier to follow if you start from the beginning.

Finally getting around to looking at the list, here are some notables. Sorry this is late, been sick this week. :(

Alligator Loki #1 - Digital series in physical print, fun "read" (barely any dialog like "It's Jeff!")

Coda #1 - Sequel to a 2018 high fantasy series of the same name.

Cull #2 - Kelly Thompson's new book. Good artwork!

Danger Street #9 - I'm really just buying this hoping that by #12 it will somehow make sense and be mindblowing.

From The World Of Minor Threats The Alternates #1 - Written by Patton Oswalt? May be worth a look.

Green Lantern #3 - Glad to see it back after that nighmare side trip.

Madness #2 - 2nd issue of Straczynski's new book. Creator of Babylon 5, had a super good run on Spider-Man.

Penguin Classics Marvel Collection - Penguin is doing super high quality collections of early Marvel, ensconcing them in the Western Canon. Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men are all out this month, joining the previous releases of Black Panther, Captain America, and Spider-Man. Paperback and hardcover editions.

Saint John #1 - Cheating here since this is a book about a Portland superhero and I live in Portland. :) Bonus variant cover by Matt Wagner. The Portland in this book hasn't existed for at least 10 years.

Superman Lost #6 - Still one of the better Supes books.

World’s Finest Teen Titans #3 - Kind of weird having 3 Titans books running at once, but I'll take it!

Fall of X
Astonishing Iceman #2
Children Of The Vault #2
X-Force #44
