I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THE PAINTING CHAPTER! THIS EPISODE IS FULL OF LORE, GUYS!

Let's hear your theories on what the past events in the paintings are about, and what significance the people in them had.

The gang has some trouble finding food, but things work out before long. Laios learns that despite being the party leader, he is the youngest. Marcille is a round 50, while Senshi is 112. That leaves Laios at 26, three years younger than Chilchuck.

Remember not to spoil anything if you're a manga reader, but feel free to elaborate on tidbits of lore that may not be coming through in the adaptation.

This adaptation is surpassing my every expectation. My favorite manga and favorite anime studio are a match made in heaven.

We finally meet one of the other parties central to the plot! They don't last long, but get used to seeing Kabru and his gang.

Laios' new pet sword, Kensuke, saves the day! We again run into some new monsters, and hence, some new dishes! This time the dungeon food might finally be too much for Marcille.

I'm not sure how many of you read these, but in the thread for episode one I mentioned in the comments that the souls of people who die in the dungeon, are trapped there, and that this is why revival magic is even possible. Outside the dungeon, death is final.

With that knowledge in mind, the ghosts, and why they try to possess bodies, are a much sadder reality. And it makes Falins reluctance to hurt them all the more sweet.

After watching the first couple of episodes, my wife and I were considering having our 8-year-old watch it with us. Then I noticed the TV-MA rating.

Not looking for spoilers, but like, is the show gonna take a bit of a turn, eventually? There hasn't been anything CLOSE to TV-M-worth thus far, in my mind.

Otherwise, it may try to escape its pen a go feral, living in some hole in the ground that it calls a "dungeon".

We now arrive on the third level proper. As it turns out, this is where Senshi lives! He ropes the gang into helping with some totally normal gardening. We also get to learn what kind of person he really is.

Something some of you may have noticed... The foreshadowing has really started ramping up. Many places in the dungeon feature depictions of a winged lion, and it is appearing more and more. What might it mean?
