As the title says, I just recently suffered the worst defeat imaginable. It was a ZvZ and I started with a fast pool and was able to snipe my opponent's natural, which is usually an auto win in most of my ZvZ matches, but my opponent was quick to build spines in his main, so I figured, I'll just sit back and make sure he doesn't have any ninjas. This worked pretty well and I noticed my opponent started turtling hard after regaining his natural, so I started expanding like crazy and took almost every base on the map uncontested. I tried breaking his natural, but he had lurkers, spines and spores so I got broodlords which prompted him to nydus my main base which destroyed all my tech. I rebuilt all my tech, but this is where things turn nightmarish. I once again tried pushing into his natural, but now my opponent has mass vipers, his lurkers destroyed every ground unit easily while his vipers killed every air unit. Rinse, repeat about 5 times. Mass ultras? Dead. Mass mutas? Dead. Mass ling run-bys? Dead. As you can imagine, my frustration is at an all-time high and I'm on the verge of a mental breakdown. The game lasted for about 51 minutes and he got a few mutas to eat away at my tech. I had about 6 bases left, but I decided to quit out of sheer humiliation. If I had to guess, I'd say my opponent traded resources at 20 to 1.

I figured this would turn into a balance discussion because I don't believe units should be able to trade that efficiently, but instead I wanted to ask: Has anyone on this sub experienced this level of frustration/anxiety/humiliation from a game?

Edit: It's not me. Look at the timestamp of the games. He insta-leaves games to derank and then talks shit when he wins.

With situation looking quite dire for professional SC2 I think it would be nice of GSL to at least do a 1 final season in 2025.

They still receive some money from Patreon, should not be a large loss or loss at all to end 15 year run in style instead of just stopping.

Serral’s series against hero in the Finals of Masters Coliseum featured way more mid game aggression and less rushes to Hive.

He played Zerg like a Zerg: swarming his opponent with mid game ling bane hydra armies until he either killed his opponent or got enough of an eco lead to go into Hive.

ZvP lategame is intensely boring in my opinion. It’s too easy for both sides to take a really bad engagement because of Fungal and Storm, so both sides spend a lot of time poking at each other on the periphery as corrupters and Tempests fly back and forth mid map.

A true ZvP mid game however, is dope af. And I’d love if we continued shifting balance to favor this sort of playstyle. The rush-to-lurker meta into vipers and corrupters is incredibly stale—I understand why they play this way, but I would love to see a baneling buff next patch to incentivize more mid game aggression from Zerg and less camping into lurkers.

Stylistically it also feels right for Zerg to have the better mid game army in the matchup and swarm Protoss before they get to their ultimate lategame composition.

But what prevents them saying a yes or a no now. It seems like it would be fine to just come out and say "guys, thanks for the watching our tournaments for the past years. Unfortunately, we can't run a profitable sc2 business model. Because of that sc2 is going to stop" I think the fans would be fine with a no too.

I bought a cheap all in one PC for my two sons to game on, mostly so they can play SC2 and WC3 with me. My 10-year-old son really took to playing terran vs a.i. with me and he was getting pretty good at making mass marine after 3 or 4 games. My favorite thing about our session is how clueless he is about the other two races. He couldn't remember the name Protoss and kept calling them Zorg. I sent him a beginner terran build order training video from YouTube, let's see if he improves tonight.
