From what I read about them, they always resort to proxy and Cold War style methods. While largely staying out of almost every major conflict, or at least avoiding direct warfare. It seems (though I cannot see any sources for this - surface level research) that they have not been heavily impacted by any major conflicts from the Guild Wars, through the Great Wars and Brood Wars to the End War. They are also considered to be technologically more advanced than the Terran Dominion (formerly the Confederacy), but some articles on wiki say that the Confederacy was the most technologically advanced of the Terran communities of Koprulu (here). Still, most sources say that they are more technologically advanced, which brings me to my question. With such an advantage and being basically unscathed while entire sectors burned and billions died. Why are they still so unimpressive in lore (regarding the continuation of the Cold War against Valerian) and considered weaker than the Dominion?

I'm only on the second campaign but near the end of the zerg section for original starcraft.

I love replaying these missions from my childhood but with sc2 qol improvements.

Some missions have been a real pain and usually due to save files not working on the harder missions meaning I don't get to fix mistakes so it's super punishing not on purpose surely.

The dynamic lights which I'm sure are not part of the original starcraft2 graphics are really cool and took my by surprise when I stumbled on someone streaming it and was blown away by the graphics since I play on lower graphics for ladder I don't get to really see the full abilities of the engine.

I am having a lot of fun reading the information about units and stuff on the tool tips for the units and buildings and stuff.

It's probably lifted from the starcraft manuals but it makes me want to explore the lore and maybe a book or two just to find out more about the history of the spider man or marine armor. These things build the world for you and create investment.

Something I feel is missing from games like battle aces as I dont think it's got any campaign correct?

This game has been my life for the last 17 years or so. Accidentally stumbled on a NukeTheStars BW video and fell in love. A few years later, SC2 came out and I became obsessed.

From watching Flash going 14cc on Matchpoint vs Effort to my first live tournament where he took it in Toronto in SC2. My love for this game has grown and grown. The players, casters and community has brought me countless hours of joy. I don't know what's going to happen with SC2 and although I don't follow as much, it still holds a big spot in my heart.

Having a bit of a nostalgia trip tonight. Here's one of my favourite SC2 videos. From when we were still young and up and coming. What are some of your fabourite videos or memories?

One year down

We are beyond honored and excited to announce that the Finnish phenomenon and two-time World Champion, Joona "Serral" Sotala 🇫🇮, will be part of Bellum Gens Elite Stara Zagora 2025 🏆

The presence of the most successful player in the history of StarCraft II is an extraordinary event, and we are confident that his participation will elevate the magic of the tournament to new heights. 🌟

Serral takes the place of last year's BGE finalist, the Chinese World Champion Li "Oliveira" Peinan 🇨🇳, who recently announced his retirement from the professional scene. While we are sad to see such a talented player step away, we wish Oliveira the very best in his future endeavors and thank him for the unforgettable moments he brought to StarCraft II fans worldwide. 🙏

Despite the sadness of not having an official StarCraft II Pro Circuit announced for this year, we are thrilled to confirm that our tournament is on schedule and ready to deliver an unforgettable experience!

🎟️ Tickets are on sale now! 🎟️

🤩 The first 100 tickets in each category are available at a special early promotional price! 🤩

As seen in many posts/stats, Zerg population is pretty low across the board (especially towards GM) for a variety of reasons, not the least of which has been a few years of nerfs.

Many zergs, including myself for a while, stepped away from the ladder as it felt exhausting going up against certain compositions/races (Skytoss specifically for me).

For those of you that have stopped playing, what sort of changes would "spark joy" and bring you back to the ladder?

/////////////////////////////////////

For me, it was the most recent patch that got rid of the reactored cyclone, which shut down almost all early game pressure.

It’s my time of the year I get off for work for a couple of months during the cold season. And I decided I was going to play through the series again back to back. Playing it through I’ve realized that the Terran and Zerg are quite intertwined with their story, and the Protoss are like “Hey! We’re here, too!” Especially in the second game.

Am I missing something? Is there story more intertwined and I just wasn’t paying attention enough? I know they have their part in the story, but it really felt like the Terran and Zerg story were one and the same, and the Protoss got in it when it was convenient for the story. And then when you play as the Protoss, again it just feels like it’s their own separate side story and not really apart of the bigger story.
