I read here that EPDM is the way to go but I really want clear tubing, how big of a disadvantage will it be to use this mayhem brand instead? Also, it looks like the EK brand is not EPDM but ZMT?

Parts List

ASUS AP201

Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Galax RTX4080 Super

ASUS X670E-I (ITX)

Corsair Dominator Titanium 24GBx2 6000CL30

Coolermaster V1100 Platinum (SFX)

Aquatuning Ultitube 50 with D5 NEXT, High Flow NEXT, OTCO

NZXT Internal USB Hub

TURZX/TURING 8.8 inch USB display

Finding a postion for the pump was not easy as at first I was planning to use an EKWB FLT80 D5. I tried drilling holes in the PSU bracket to find a good place to use the FLT80 but the D5 sticking out was too much so gave up on the FLT80. I also though about mounting a pump/res combo on the rear 120mm fan mount or going with a pump/cpu block combo but settled on using the Ultitube 50+D5 Next, drilled some holes and secured it to the case.

Finding a waterblock for the Galax 4080 Super was a bit of a challange as the only one that had official support was a Bykski block, but I wanted to try something different. Fortunatly, the Galax 4080 Super uses a reference design bord with some VRM/coils being placed different from INNO3D, PNY which are supported by the Alphacool block. The only thing to be careful is that you will need to prepare your own thermal pads as the ones that come with the block will not touch some of the VRMs (red circled ones in the pic below). I didn't go for the "Core" Alphacool block since the pictures suggested they will not touch all of the VRMs.

Used Zip Ties and a metal PSU bracket from Aliexpress to secure the PSU to the front of the case.

Overall I'm happy just to finish the build but if I could start from scratch, I'd probably wouln't use P12 Max fans, or any fans that don't have the cabling for rads as 7 fan cables were a PITA to manage.

I'm new to custom loops and I just want to confirm if its okay to use this with copper components? The description says that it has an Aluminum Alloy Cover for the top and bottom.

Thanks!

I've decided based on price, selection, and aesthetic to go with Barrow fittings. Going to start with all 16x10mm EDPM and slowly mix in some 14mm hardline.

My embarrassing question is how do these fittings work:

https://preview.redd.it/yb1piy2xil9d1.jpg?width=724&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41e8a63968cc005813ee1349bd90d181b3970443

For the life of me, I cannot find any photos of them in use. Does the outer sleeve screw off? And if so, how does it not tighten or unscrew the G1/4" base with it? Or is this some sort of push-in fitting for tubing? Seemingly you could compress the sleeve/tube on before mounting the fitting, but that would only work for one side else you'd twist the tube.

I may just be overthinking this, but I'm terrified of overtorquing fittings and cracking my acrylic parts. Compare the above to this other option which is clearly two parts:

https://preview.redd.it/ury1j5tbjl9d1.jpg?width=754&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e69b89d06ce7196d75ec333edbbff752dc58b9a

With those, you can hold the base while you tighten the sleeve.

I hate throwing away a product because of a failed component.

I have some AIOs in different systems, but an MSI Coreliquid 360R V2 is the oldest one and probably will be the first to fail.

What happens if the pump in the radiator fails? I couldn't find any spare parts online. Shall I use it with an external pump?

I'm trying to find a way to liquid cool my Nvdia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE graphics card. Ideally I want to use an aio cooler to easily install and integrate into my current setup. I'm having trouble find anything for this card. Is there another card version that has the same layout as this one? Could I use a cooler rated for a similar card version for my own? Thanks in advance

Recently purchased The Eisbaer Pro Aurora 360 CPU AIO for a new WRX90/sTR5 build

After receiving it, I quickly realized that “Eisbaer Pro Aurora 360 CPU AIO” does not support sTR5 - I should have ordered “Eisbaer Pro HPE Aurora 360 CPU AIO”

My mistake. I did a lot of research before ordering to ensure sTR5 was supported, but was careless when I ordered and didn’t confirm that the lack of “HPE” in the listing wasn’t more than an oversight

So for my purposes, is this now effectively a paperweight, or is there a bracket/kit so that I can use it with sTR5?

I know I can sell it, or maybe use the radiator and then buy only the pump and plate assembly for sTR5, but I’d much rather pay for a kit to make what I have work

Aside from needing a bracket, I believe it would also need some sort of plate to extend the contact surface, as it seems the HPE has a larger surface

Thanks for any input

Hi all, first time posting here but been following for a while.

I'm looking to build my first custom loop and wanted some advice regarding the coolant I purchased. I bought this:

https://www.xs-pc.com/coolant/pure-premix-distilled-coolant-luminara-transparent-white

Just now I started wondering since it says distilled whether I need to add biocide or not. I can't see any mentions of whether or not it contains it so I'm leaning towards it not having any biological inhibitors. But on the bottle it says "no need for any additional additives" which then makes me think it does?

If someone with better knowledge can let me know whether or not I need buy and add any biocide such as PM Nuke I'd really appreciate it! Thank you

Hi folks

Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience working within a Silverstone RM600?

I'm looking to buy a couple of these and re-use some 360mm radiators that I have already as well as GPU blocks. The only issue I have is what's the best solution for a pump and/or pump-res for this? I'll be running this in a rack under my desk. I could do something underneath the motherboard, but, there isn't much there in terms of fan mount holes and I don't think there is 120mm clearance, though I might be wrong.

Something like EK's FLT reservoirs seem like they would be possible, but, its a bit hard to figure that out.

Any suggestions would be welcome, many thanks!

Hey, am planning my first water cooling build and I am a tad overwhelmed at the things you should take into account to prevent good loop health (no corrosion or contamination). Could you help verify whether or not the list of water cooling parts I have will be okay with each other? The reasearch I have done indicates that it should be fine, but just wanting to double check.

  • Heatkiller IV Pro acryl cpu block
  • EKWB Quantum vector RTX 3080 asus TUF
  • Bitspower NLXF420-F4PB
  • EKWB Quantum Kinetic TBE D5 200
  • EKWB ZMT Tubes
  • EKWB torque stc fittings.

Also, when first getting the parts, to get the contaminants out do you flush with distilled water, or with the loop water with the anti-growth stuff?

Thanks, please forgive the basic question, am a watercooling newb.

I plan on doin my first water cooling setup soon. I have it all planed out with corsair because there ease of use for a newb to find compatibility and all the parts needed. My questions are: 1) I know Corsair is not the greatest, any body have recommendations for others brands and tips on the components and compatibility? 2) I want to use the aquacomputer high flow Next in my system, however I want to still control my fan speed and rgb, can I use the Aquacomputer octo with just the the high flow plugged in and nothing else? 3) based on the last question is there one controller and software that can control everything 4) I get mixed thoughts from people about coolent, I wanted to do frosted tubes with like an ice blue look, are dyes fine, and what dyes should you use in what coolant. are tubes and blocks useable with different brands please give simple answers I'm a total newb to this

I’m looking at doing a cpu only loop with overclocking my 14700K would two 360s be overkill for just a 14700k in my loop

So I’m planning on doing a small upgrade for my pc and water cooling and have been talking about it with my best friend/ housemate and he says that I should have separate radiators/ loops for my cpu and gpu. Is this correct or would I have any problems having a loop combining my cpu and gpu?

So I plan on making a custom loop in the future and am trying to plan out how the case will look. I’ve got a lian li o11 dynamic xl case and I know I want a distroplate/pump combo. EK cooling makes both a front mount and a back mount plate and I’m probably gonna get the back mount one. My question is if I put some pretty high power components in it (4900 and 14900k), will fans over two radiators and one exhaust fan be enough or do I need those three extra intake fans in the back?

Hey Hey, People.

I'm currently in the planning phase of my next PC which I want to water-cool (first time and a long dream of mine) and would like to seek for your advice/improvement.

It will be used as a workstation but also as a gaming rig with focus on silence.

The case will be a Corsair 9000d once it is released.

As for the hardware and water blocks, I will wait until the 9000 series of AMD CPUs and RTX 5000 series is released.

If possible (I'll see when I see the case in person) I'll go for four 45mm rads, if not the top ones will be 30mm (simply due to thicker rads usually being less restrictive).

All the rads will be HPE ones from Alphacool as they are pretty cheap and local.

Below is a picture with my current blueprint

I colour coded the routing I'll go for with 30mm top rads in red and with 45mm top rads in yellow.

My current sketch of routing. I know that flow order does not matter but this is how I want to do it anyways. B stands for Bleed Port (ball valve with a male qd3) which will also be used as a pressure inlet for draining, D for drain (ball valve with a male qd3), Flow for flow meter. The green dots represent the G1/4 to 16/10 fittings. The purple fittings on top of the rads will be rotary 90° fittings.

I will go for soft tubing as it is more practical and will use a clear coolant (DP Ultra).

The fans will either be push or pull depending on clearance and will suck in air from the top and front and exhaust at the back.

Depending on clearance issued the bleed port wont be the highest port anymore and would only be used as pressure inlet for draining.

Is there anything you would change or improve? And do you have any other tips (I already bought spare O-rings, fittings and tubing + a leak tester)?
