For those that are unaware, for years one of the primary ways that hardcore players have played in PoE 1 is via a log-out macro. You lose a portal, but your character still lives. It's always been a bit controversial, but it's generally disliked (as in, the game shouldn't be balanced around it's existence)

It just seems crazy that it has not only crossed over to PoE2, but into softcore somehow.

The only use portals serve now, beyond going back for more loot, is to allow you back into the map if you quit and reconnect.

I mean it's nice that pausing means you don't need macro anymore, so thanks I guess?

As the title suggests I have also been affected by whatever vulnerability is going around leading to bad actors accessing peoples accounts. I have already contacted support with what little information I have and am sharing here so that the community can be aware of what happened in my particular case.

I have already done my due diligence and checked for vulnerabilities on my end, malware bytes confirms nothing wrong with my personal machine and steam support confirms no errant logins from narnia.

First and most obvious point is yes I have steam and have only ever logged into PoE 2 via steam so to everyone suggesting that accounts without steam 2fa are the only ones vulnerable, my case proves that they aren't. I haven't used any third party programs or sites for a better trade experience so the only site to have my steam access token is the official trade site. The only thing that I can think of in this case is that I recently corrupted a Ingenuity and got a 92% roll (yes lucky me :S) and after selling the belt I bought a temporalis and made the cast on blink funny build from Jungroan. So at some point my thought is either when I bought the chestpiece or while the belt was listed my account came under notice of the person who did this and using some vulnerability that isnt on steams end or my pc's end they gained access to my account and transferred everything off.

Just wanted people to be aware that this can happen even if you don't use third party tools and have steam 2fa as I've see comments in other threads suggesting these are the primary causes of the breach.

I've never had a worse time in PoE than Act 1 chaos witch. Like honestly whoever made this hard autotargetting feature never tried it in action, I refuse to believe they did.

Contagion just autotargets enemy with the lowest life even if my cursor is nowhere near to it while Chaos bolt autotargets probably the closest enemy? Don't know. It's borderline impossible to cast Contagion on an enemy and shoot Chaos bolt on him.

I've just met an invulnerability rare and guess what, I have to unwillingly cast Contagion on every single invulnerable enemy around it before it casts on that rare, even if my cursor is directly on top of it (it has the red outline).

This needs to be changed or we should be allowed to turn it off.

Hi ! My name is TheKropicka and i have made a bit of a social experiment with the use of the Trade chat.

You see, i might be the only person that actually enjoys running Trials of Sekhema. After a day of a hardcore progress on the last boss ( I found trying to best him to be quite fun, even IF some of his abilities are quite frustrating and in my eyes poorly explained to the player) to get my 4th ascendancy, i grew to like running the place. There is a bit of money to be gained and being juiced up on the boons is neat.

Thing is, after a few runs, i figured i could try to carry some people for the hell of it. That being said, my build isnt optimal for that at all. A fight with a dude outside takes like 5 minutes for me but it bumps up the loot and i help people in the process. One thing quite stunned me however. I simply threw out the message in the trade chat that i am selling the carry for 20 ex (Which is quite underpriced due to the fact that it takes me quite some tome to down the beast).

Now comes the kicker. Without using TFT i expected people to straight up not pay after the boost. I am happy to announce, that the first 7 people i ran with all paid right after the boost was given ! This intrigued me to no end actually, so i modified the message to state exactly that i will take the payment AFTER the kill, so people would be more tempted. I even went on to loot the boxes or what not on the end, not sending the trade request at all. It even became a ritual for me that after each run, i would make a little strike on a paper next to my PC of how many people i ran with before one jumped the deal. I swear to Wilson, i have 63 lines on my tally paper. Not a single soul left before payment yet. Even without giving people the trade request, they come to me and give me the few ex i asked of them.

In my eyes, this is unique to PoE. Is there an explanation for this ?

Posted this just to brighten yalls days i guess. It warms me up knowing that people are upright... at least in this game.

With everything else going on, maybe its a minor polish note, but 200 hours in, this mod has been a regular source of frustration (while not actually being lethal, just being really annoying).

I initially needed to say the word to myself a few times to understand what it might be hinting at, but there's no visual cue here at all that the rare mob is invincible until you close distance with it.

I don't know how close I need to get. I don't even know WHAT happens if the enemy is intangible. Can I still... electrocute it? If it's tangible up close... is it... tangible from far? Aren't most things like that?

Suggestions:

  • The mod needs to read with less esoteric, cryptic, abstruse wordy words. Call it "Invincible from Range". "No Hurt 'er From Further". "Get In Close to Win Most"

  • I should be able to identify an enemy with this mod ON SIGHT. In the game world, not in the UI. Give it a clear visual indicator as to when the enemy will be vulnerable. Make the enemy appear misty or opaque or bright white when they're invincible.

  • (stretch) Instead of making them INVINCIBLE from range, give it a high (80-90%, whatever) damage mitigation outside the designated range, and increasing the damage the mob takes to ... 110-120% say, once the player closes into some minimum distance. If I'm a ranged caster and you're asking me to CLOSE distance to an enemy to defeat it, that risk should come with a boon because you're asking me to violate the normal parameters of my character / play against the playstyle of my build.

I'm sure the combatants / AI designers have plenty of other things to do, but, I think this is something to maybe throw near the top of the priority list.

I've been playing PoE 1 a lot over the holidays, and I've noticed that I keep getting logged out of the trade site about once per hour. It was never like that before PoE 2 launched. Anyone else noticed a change?

After swithing some gear around at level 80 i´m in this akward spot where i need a much lower level spirit gem to use my setup. I have grinded a level 27 zone for 2.5hours with as much increased item rarity as possible. Result is 16 skill gems, 0 spirit gems. This is not very SSF friendly, and i dont see why we should not be able to de-level gems just as in poe 1. Considering the absurd mana cost in path of exile 2, there may be good reasons to use a lower level gem.

This may mostly be an issue for ssf players i guess.. Thoughts?

As an example I am playing a cold spell Blood Mage, which is a Witch. This unfortunately changes (as far as I know) one or two clusters around the starting area, which directly negatively affects my build, as I have wanted to use them. I plead with you GGG to not do this, it shoehorns builds into feeling tied to a class, which is incredibly anti-build diversity. This decision specifically makes me feel like I'm wrong for being a Witch caster, which shouldn't be the case in a game like Path of Exile. Thank you for reading my rambling, I would really like to discuss this with anyone in the comments who maybe feels different about this. I am personally a PoE 2 enjoyer, which is why I'm bringing this up, as I feel it has a negative impact on the game.

This is a node that was changed, which would otherwise be a cold damage + freeze buildup node called Path of Winter:

We learn from Poe 2 much more about the beast and how it came to be. We learn that it needs to be fed insane amounts of flesh/corpses in order to grow and start Corrupting the land. Sin claims this is necessary as corruption dulls the power of gods and puts them in a sort of slumber. This raises questions about Poe 1. There’s some loose connections but I think Sin is NOT who we think.

I found it very strange that Sin kept a beast egg around “just incase” now that events of Poe 1 and 2 show that humans are perfectly capable of stopping evil gods. It’s also weird how he stayed in wraeclast while hiding the egg, when his brother Innocence went into self exile into the unnamed frozen southern continent. Why not follow Innocence? It’s almost like sin was waiting for certain to people disappear before the beast can be revived (the Godslayers from Poe 1 have all gone missing into the atlas).

How did the beast grow in the first place? The beast was at full power at the end of the Vaal empire, so it must have feasted upon a civilization before even the Vaal. Sin created the beast so he must also have fed it the first time around. What other civilization has legends about cataclysm, and a giant god eating everything? The karui and their stories of kitava.

Now you’ll say “but kitava is dead we killed him and he’s not related to the beast”. That’s true, but you know who isn’t dead? Who spreads carnage and brings misery with them just like Sin? Tangmazu, the strange voice from delirium. OH AND THATS WEIRD the very moment we leave for the past in Poe 2 endgame Sin disappears, AND GUESS WHOS THERE IN THE PAST. The strange voice.

My theory is that Sin and Tangmazu are one. I think Sin has been doing this Beast growing, cataclysm cycle multiple times now for his own amusement. The beast feeds upon gods power to create gems, humans use gems to become the new gods and after that a great cataclysm happens. I think this is why Innocence killed sin in Poe 1 lore, to protect his human followers who were building a prosperous civilization. Sin was going to start another beast cycle but innocence stopped him.

The karui, the eternals, the Vaal, the desert peoples, all of them become ruined after gems. Sin is doing this shit on purpose because the eldritch beings won’t return his texts so he’s tormenting humans.

The gods are barely a threat at this point, we don’t need the beast, there’s far greater threats and beings from other worlds and planes of existence. The Beyond demons have canonically devoured countless timelines, but sin wants us to be afraid of shit like a giant hermit crab, or a guy with totems for arms. I’m not buying it, he’s doing this on purpose.

POE2 Official wiki just got a new main page and is starting to shape up, it wasn't really usable before unless you knew exactly what you were searching for.

Thanks a lot to all contributors!

Or whatever year it was. It's like they hired completely new devs to do the game, who just try to copy PoE1 with ruthless flair and the seniors are just chilling in the office and not checking wtf these new guys are doing. Yes, the game has good stuff in it as well, but the good stuff is not making me quit the game.

  • rares are clearly visible in the pack
  • early itemisation is fixed by the bench
  • deadly effects have clear and distinct sound effects
  • you can not go CI with just 2 items, so not everybody an their mother is ES
  • 5/6L made more accessible through different means
  • removed and later reworked sextants, because blocking and setting up was way to much (towers are old sextants on crack)
  • made gems accessible for early game
  • "fixed" melee with fortify
  • reworked scion life wheel, so not everybody is forced to got there. This is 100% future problem, when they try to fix current stare of ES and nuke completely, so everybody is forced to go life
  • reduced the mana cost of spells, to make spell casting easier
  • ascendancy made easier, to make it more accessible
  • shortened act zones
  • increased monster density, so players do not have to travel multiple screens to the next pack
  • ...

I can go on for the whole day. I did not expected PoE2 to be a perfect game on early access, but I did not expected it to repeat so many mistakes either.
