I’d guess they’d go for about $150,000 a piece if you built blocks of them. The lower unit is probably cheaper without the rooftop access.

And yes, this is the future of home ownership here, not single detached living.

Got a note back from the IG creator. Rents for about $850 a month and is just north of downtown Tokyo.

I'm otherwise occupied that day, but I'm very interested in what this part of the discussion entails:

Located next to 105 Keefer site where a billionaire real estate developer, Beedie, plans to build gentrifier condos, the Chinatown Memorial Plaza is a significant cultural landmark in the heart of Chinatown that honours the sacrifices of Chinese Canadian railway workers and veterans. During the tour, you'll gain insights into the plaza's original design concept, context, and significance, and why Beedie's 105 Keefer condo project will negatively impact the plaza.

Scabies cream shortage (self.vancouver)
submitted 2 years ago by 601error to c/vancouver

I haven't seen any media reporting on this, but I have visited about ten pharmacies in Metro Vancouver this week looking for Nix 5% permethrin cream to treat scabies, and every pharmacy was out of stock. One pharmacist said that there has been a problem obtaining it from the manufacturer for about a month.

I was able to obtain enough leftover cream from a family member. However, if you get scabies, you will find it difficult to get this first-line medication.

Friendship kiss (latte.isnot.coffee)

For a city that is all about showing public acceptance of gays and trans, why do the men seem so uptight as a matter of respect and greeting, for a man to kiss another man's face, on the cheek of course?

Explain how people are all for 2 men frnech kissing, but a friendship kiss is too sexual, there seems to be a contradiction.

Are men not comfortable showing a bond with other men but let's love the gays? I grew up with a kiss on the forehead or cheek is strictly general affection to show a sentimental care for the person.

The Vancouver 2030 bid was killed by the BC government back in late 2022. It was expected to cost about $1.2 billion in direct costs (38.5 billion for Beijing, 12.9 billion for Pyeongchang, 50 billion for Sochi, 7.7 billion for last Vancouver).

Vancouver already has most of the sports-related infrastructure built. It would facilitate the construction of more density in Olympic Villages, which could help ease the housing crisis. It would motivate the development of better public transportation and would bring attention to the BC interior through Sun Peaks in Kamloops. It would also drive more hotel development in Vancouver, which is already severely lacking in hotels.

Vancouver is uniquely well-suited for an Olympic bid given it already has the infrastructure in place. Such an event could help drive economic growth and stimulate job creation without paying for the excessive costs of having to build everything from scratch. Instead, Vancouver can focus on important projects such as housing development, transportation, and social welfare under the guise of it being Olympic development.

Walking distance from Surrey Central and the best part is that it's a free thing to do!
