The die size of AMD's upcoming RDNA 4 RX 9070 series has leaked ranging at 390mm2 and according to videocardz the size of this Navi 48 die could be bigger than Nvidia's normal 80 series die such as the 4080 - 5080 AD103 - GB203, at around 377mm2 now with the recent leak regarding to its performance where it's matching 7900 XT performance.

But because it may only end up competing against RTX 5070 or a bit lower than that even depending on how well the 5070 performs in the real world, but the RTX 5070 is using a GB205 die that is much smaller compared to RX 9070's Navi 48.

Now we kind of can see why AMD Radeon is so hesitant on revealing this GPU on their CES 2025 live conference. They were caught off guard with how unexpectedly cheaper the 5070 is and now their choice is to either sell the RX 9070 series for a loss at $400 like Intel Arc does with their Battlemage series of GPUs or sell them at higher than 5070 price around $750+ same as 5070 Ti which will likely be much faster than 9070 XT.

When you press in the release trigger, the blue plastic circle sticks out from the joycon to hit the "+" button on the Switch 2 rail, that we saw previously from NextHandheld

I'm actually starting to believe they have access to an actual Switch 2 console

This is the first leak we've seen where the plastic circle is protruding from the joycon

According to french journalist Nicolas Lellouche from Numerama

The Nintendo Switch 2 is coming to #CES2025 with several accessory makers showing off a model of the console and its accessories.

Genki, with whom I was able to chat, claims to own a real Switch 2. Article and video tomorrow on Numerama

He added when asked about reveal and release date:

Release everyone says April, announcement they don't have the info.

UPDATE:

On the television present on its stand, Genki presents videos of the Joy-Con 2 controllers, in which we can see the famous optical sensor that has been talked about so much in recent days. The company tells us that this is indeed a novelty of the console, even if it has not been able to test games that exploit it.

However, she has no idea of the usefulness of the C button, which will appear on the right Joy-Con. At CES 2025, Genki exhibits two models of the Switch 2, which confirm all the previous rumors. The Joy-Con are now magnetic, with a very good feeling of solidity (there is a button to remove the Joy-Con). The Switch 2 is also larger than the Switch 1 and introduces a second USB-C port at the top.

We were also able to see Joy-Con 2 with a colored joystick, without the possibility of filming them. Again, it is impossible to say if they are real accessories, or replicas designed for promotional purposes.

The real Nintendo Switch 2 would circulate among accessory stores Is the real Switch 2 currently walking in Las Vegas? According to some accessories, it is possible to acquire it on the black market "provided that you put money". It could be a lie to maintain the myth, but accessory manufacturers proudly claim to own the real Nintendo console.

The fact that it does not provide any details about the software is suspicious, but several brands, including Genki, indicate that their mold was made from the real console, not 3D plans. Is the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 in April real? Several accessory stakers seem to agree on this period, while the date of March 28, 2025 had previously been mentioned.

The announcement of the console is probably imminent, without knowing whether what is circulating in Las Vegas is based on the real console or on 3D plans. Anyway, the Switch 2 should look like that... and its announcement is imminent.

Same booth as the JoyCons

EDIT:

On my further inspection, it appears that it doesn’t align with some of the other leaks, notably the screen protector listing on Amazon JP earlier today - this a a very, very close replica but the screen proportion isn’t quite right.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the actual size of the unit and Joy Cons are accurate, but the screen appears not so.

Remember, this is a dummy unit too not an actually device.

Using the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 benchmark tool

"All told, at 4K Extreme settings without upscaling or frame generation, the Radeon RX 9070 was capable of an impressive 99fps average, even if it had the same visual bug as the Intel Arc B580 when I benchmarked it."

"Given that DLSS adds about a 30% performance jump at the Quality setting, that may place the Radeon RX 9070 on equal footing with the 4080 Super – though I'd need to test the 4080 Super without DLSS to know for sure."

According to Eurogamer, Rocksteady has been hit by another round of layoffs. As support for SSKTJL comes to an end with the final season, the studio has seen a number of employees let go across various departments. Eurogamer was the first to report on the layoffs after “half a dozen staff” who were part of the layoffs confirmed to the outlet that they took place. According to the report, employees in QA, programming, and art have been let go. An exact number impacted or when the layoffs actually happened is currently unknown. The latest layoffs mark the second in a handful of months as the QA team saw staff reduced by over 50% in September. They has reached out to Warner Bros. Games and Rocksteady for comment on the layoffs. As of publishing, however, no response has been received. Whatever Rocksteady has cooking up for its next game, it better be something really good. If not, an end is almost inevitable for the studio.

The Technical Art Director at Virtuos listed an "unannounced UE5 PS5/XSX/PC remake" on their LinkedIn profile.

By itself, that's not much to go on, but eXtas1s previously claimed that Virtuos is working on a The Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion remake that used the Unreal Engine 5 engine and might be revealed at the Xbox Developer Direct this month.

This is a new photo I have recieved from a trusted source showing a Switch 2 Dock, featuring visible input and output voltage information (other information obscured).

In addition, I have learned that the Switch 2 ships with a 60W charger for use with the dock.

Just a small update about these rumoured remakes. A twitter user asks if we could be getting a different RE game before RE9 and DG theories a 0 remake could be announced around the time of the Switch2 announcement. He also claims CV remake is much further away from release than 0 (CV remake has only been in development for around 2 years).

He admits it's just speculation but if he's right then a 0 remake could be coming sooner than we expected.

EDIT: Just a reminder he says this is mostly speculation so don't give him grief if it doesn't happen when he never confirmed anything.

"Here are the Call of Duty development costs from Kelly’s filing, which Game File has reviewed:

  • Black Ops III (2015): “Treyarch developed the game over three years with a creative team of hundreds of people, and invested over $450 million in development costs over the game’s lifecycle.” (Kelly also discloses that it has sold 43 million copies.)
  • Modern Warfare (2019): “Infinity Ward developed the game over several years and has spent over $640 million in development costs throughout the game’s lifecycle.” (41 million copies sold)
  • Black Ops Cold War (2020): “Treyarch and Raven Software took years to create the game with a team of hundreds of creatives. They ultimately spent over $700 million in development costs over the game’s lifecycle.” (30 million copies sold)"

Does not include the marketing costs for the games it seems. Only development costs.
