✍🏼 Pre-Match Ramblings
As I said above, it will take an absolute catastrophe for Arsenal not to finish in the Top 8 of the league stage of this years Champions League. This depleted Arsenal side desperately need as much rest as they are able to get, and a Top 8 finish along with our early FA Cup exit gives us a few respite periods in the coming weeks... Did someone say Dubai?
Girona really have nothing to play for other than pride. No one wants to get beaten at home, so expect a fight, albeit with some rotation, from the Catalan side. Girona have only beaten Slovan Bratislava in the UCL so far - one of two teams not to score a single point. Let's keep this one nice and clean, no more injuries, no dropped points, carry our momentum into the City game.
We have a stretch of 3 games in the coming week which round off this absolutely mental stretch of fixtures. We face City 4 days after Girona, and then head up to SJP for the second leg of the EFL Cup against Newcastle the following Wednesday. Then we have a 10 day breather in which we can regroup.
