#WhatchaReading ? There's nothing like a really good audiobook for making my work get done. Two loads of laundry and a lot of gardening done, thanks to 10 Things That Never Happened. The narrator is just fantastic, such distinct voices and accents. And you can really hear the emotions growing between the characters.

(But now I have nothing to listen to, so I guess housework is done for the day!)

#WatchaReading ? I started Wolf at Bay, the Sequel to Wolf at the Door. I find it fascinating that the main character, though gay and out, has so many issues stemming from toxic masculinity. Will be interested to see if that gets explored throughout the series.

Also DNF'd The Road to Roswell, second Willis DNF in a row for me. To paraphrase my husband, I'm tired of her shtick.

#WhatchaReading ? I read The Amazing Alpha Tau Boyfriend Project by Lisa Henry, which was very fun, but also made me uncomfortable in a way I find hard to define. Maybe the glorification of the "good" frat house, maybe the familiar humor that sounds more like my friends online than college boys. I'll probably read the next book though. On KU.

#WhatchaReading ? I read Return to Monte Carlo by Cate Wells. (KU) It's dedicated to Lucy Monroe and well, IYKYK. 😁 Basically it's an updated, subverted, and pretty kinky version of the classic "withdrawn Italian husband with horrible family" Harlequin Presents and I was here for it! Though the ending was a bit abrupt. It's set in the 80s for extra descriptive fun. (Just like an old HP!)

I #read the #audiobook of Unfit To Print by KJ Charles. This lovely Victorian #historicalromance is notable not just for the M/M #romance but because both MCs are POC in late-1800s London. For some reason, this #book hasn’t fared as well as her other #books in ratings - the setting & sub-plot might be uncomfortable for some. Just #read Alien Healer by Sue Mercury (#book 2/Vaxxlian Mates). This short alien #romance novella is a rescue & rehab of a human female. Themes of arranged marriages, forced marriages, pregnancy, etc but no glaring consent issues between MCs (sometimes I struggle with this author over the excessive violence in her books). I’ve #read via #audiobook Fire In His Blood by Ruby Dixon (#book 1/Fireblood Dragons). This is a post-apocalyptic dragon shifter #romance series, where Earth has been invaded by mad dragons through a portal ripped into the sky. Claudia is forced to try and “tame” one of the dragons. I’ve just finished #reading Silent Vows by Jill Ramsower (#book 1/The Byrne Brothers). I will definitely be following up on the other #books in this series. Lots of meh on GR but I liked it for the FMC & her attempts to adjust to a different sort of crime family while still traumatized by her father. #WhatchaReading ? I listened to Codename Charming, which I liked a fair bit more than Battle Royal, although I don't think the audiobook did it a lot of favors. (It was good enough to keep listening to, but the MMC's voice wasn't great.) The hero is a Mountain, which I always love.

Also read Ten Things I Hate About the Duke, which I thought had some plotting issues, but Chase always does such great relationships and interactions.

I have a confession to make.

I have never - never - #read a Nora Roberts #book. I could try to excuse myself, but it comes down to the fact that my mom & MIL both read them all. So I didn’t.
