I’m #reading via #audiobook Devil’s Bride (#book 1/Cynster but 2nd chronologically). I think I first #read this #historical #romance #mystery in 2009 when it was released & have listened to it before, too. When reading on paper or ebook, it’s possible to skip the epically long sex or nearly-sex scenes - pretty sure one of them lasts over 20 pages. #WhatchaReading ? I DNF'd His Improper Proposal by Aydra Richards; really didn't like the uneven power dynamic between the two main characters, and the whole set-up was pretty ridiculous. This was her first book and she got much, much better.

I’ve finished listening to the #audiobook Rajmund by DB Reynolds (#book 3/Vampires in America). It’s my least favorite book in my most favorite #romance series. The series is why I #read #vampire fic. #WhatchaReading? I #AmReading His Forgotten Bride by Aydra Richards, an amnesia story, yay!. My third by her and I'm really enjoying them; nice to be able to read historical romance again. She's kind of old fashioned but not Old Skool, if that makes sense.

I’ve #read His Human Widow by Michele Mills (#book 10/Monsters Love Curvy Girls). I love this alien #romance world & 10 was a fun addition to the Hyrrokin-human love matches. Plus, a bonded pet!!! Hyrrokins are not really monsters like in the #monsters genre. They are just Devil-looking aliens. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve finished #reading The Promise In A Kiss by Stephanie Laurens as an #audiobook. This is the 1st #book chronologically in her epic #cynster series that is still going on decades later. Manipulative English Duke & manipulative French aristocrat work to outplay manipulative French guardian in this pre-regency #historical #romance. I’ve #read Coveted By The Hunter by Lynnea Lee (#book 10/Xarc’n Warriors). This post-apocalyptic alien #romance series is definitely one of my favorites. I hardly ever read #books right when they are released but this was close - it was new in August. The MMC isn’t as human-savvy as some of his fellow warriors so mistakes from earlier books are repeated with different outcomes. I’ve #read Rock Hard Gargoyle (#book 1/Possessive Monsters). I’m not a huge fan of #monsters #romance or #bodyguard trope, but this was well-done and quite charming. The MCs live in the world after a long-lasting concealment spell has ended & magics are revealed to the world. I recently #read Vines by Brynne Asher (#book 1/The Killers). The unusual title is really not all that mysterious past chapter 2. Add an ex-Secret Service cop to someone who should never have moved so close to DC to a #romance and there’s bound to be danger and mayhem. It's the last few days of #RomanceAwarenessMonth and on day 28, I would like to give a shout out to Courtney Milan and her #BrothersSinister series. I don't read #HistoricalRomance on a regular basis, but this series was compelling and drew me in. The final novella, "Talk Sweetly to Me" is one of my favourite short stories. Ms Milan explores the diversity of the era, and backs it up with research.

I hope to read Lorraine Heath and Mimi Matthews next.

I #read as #audiobook A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert. I read the #book a few years ago, but this was my 1st listen. FMC is autistic, but only 1 mention that seems to fly right over the MC’s head. Maybe this is common in the UK, but it’s literally the only thing that bugs me about this otherwise perfect book (that he doesn’t seem to connect that word to her quirkiness). #romance #books #romancelandia #bookstodon @bookstodon @romancebooks
