Been seeing posts about #Snac2 and had a quick look. It looks very similar to #Mastodon but without the Java and so on. Are there really any benefits from using it as a server for Mastodon ?? Please (mastodon.bsd.cafe)

@[email protected] unless I misunderstood what you asked, you don’t really use it "as a server for Mastodon", you use it "as an alternative server for ActivityPub that is compatible with Mastodon and other Fediverse clients / servers". Which means, it has its benefits (light, written in C, BSD oriented, etc) but also may have a few drawbacks; I can’t list them but think about missing features (compared to Mastodon) and/or compatibility issues with some other software.

@[email protected] Thank you Joel. I'm glad some folk are fluent in Justine speak and able to decode my cryptic posts. I always know what i mean in my head it just sometimes comes out all wrong.🤣
