Anyone else getting influx of 36 subscribers when creating a community? (lemm.ee)

I am seeing a lot of local communities in the search tab which are recently created and have 0 post but 36 subscribers. Same happened with my [email protected] community. Are these bots?

Instances need to have 1 person subscribe to a community to have those posts federate to their instance. Its likely that some Instances are running bots that subscribe to an instance so its visible for their users.

I thought having one person on any community of an instance is enough to federate with all the communities there...

Nope. Every individual community must have a sub to be pulled in remotely.
