The only problem today is the rich have waaayyyy more money to buy their security, and the guards no longer have to be human. Even still, we need to make them fear for their very existence if we ever want anything to get better

That is true. But we now have consumer drones that are very easily weaponized. The guards don't need to be human, but neither do the attackers.

And there's a limit to how good human/nonhuman security can be.
