Some indexers get their content automatically from Usenet boards, where users upload their nzbs for other users to manually download.
This is important as Usenet provider do follow DMCA and local laws, so they could be forced to give out any information they have on you.
Thank you! This is great feedback. How does one create an nzb? FWIW it's a relatively obscure movie available on YT. I'm not terribly worried about lawsuits, but figured it was a good time to learn best practices.
Here's a comparison of Usenet uploading tools [1]. If your comfortable with cli nyuu is likely your best bet, otherwise ngPost has a GUI.
If you don't obfuscate the files (i.e. don't rename the files to some random string, and keep the file title), your upload should be able to found by usenet search engines like binsearch.info and other Usenet indexer might pick it up too.
If you obfuscate it the only way to find the files is the nzb you created and it'll have to be added to a usenet board/indexer.
