The slideshow of the lives of the couple included photos from a Black Lives Matter protest. One of the two getting married is a cop. Then I noticed Thin Blue Line decor around the gift table. The other half of the couple is Black.

Have to ask are they still married?

[โ€“] [email protected] 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yep. And adopted a white baby. Like, intentionally, specifically a white baby.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Well at least they are still married.

Considering the insanely high domestic abuse rate among police officers, I wouldn't be so sure about that.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is there a higher rate?

Yes.

Does that mean there IS domestic abuse in that marriage? No. Should we be implying there is? No

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He's a cop, why shouldn't we be implying he likely beats the shit out of anyone he can?

So there is zero chance that he might be a good person? Zero chance that he might care about the law? That's a bit of a narrow minded view point.

Not zero. In the same way I'm sure
more than zero of the folks wearing swastikas 90 years ago were good. But the odds are low enough it's not worth the energy.

The the best advice I have for you is when your home is being broken into or you are being attacked, do not call the police. Just beg the criminal to stop.

[โ€“] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago

That is sound advice, the cops will likely not arrive in time and if they do they might shoot me.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What if it's the police who's breaking in and murdering you? (As it's happened in real life multiple times)

You mean completely legally forcing entry to a home thats near the one they had a warrant for and dispatching a hostile terrorist baby with an ak-47-shaped pacifier?
