A place to discuss privacy and freedom in the digital world.
Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience
- Be nice :)

When I was a kid some 30 years ago everyone wanted to go to America. It was seen as this amazing society where you could do anything, be anything, see anything!
It’s not that way anymore.
Now it’s seen as a dangerous place, where you have to take measures like in this article to protect yourself.
Trump really has destroyed your country’s reputation. It’s incredible.
These policies pre-date Trump. But to be fair, the media refused to acknowledge a lot of these problems until Trump was president.
Laws and policies are different. The Trump administration takes much more extremist views towards laws on the books making their internal policies much worse (in most cases).
They’re taking things to the next level of escalation, but they’re using precedent that was set before them in consolidating power for the executive branch, and the destruction of accountability.
