Deanna Troi played poker even though she can tell when people are lying.
THAT THOUGHT GENUINELY NEVER OCCURED TO ME WTF LMAO
She mentions it in a later season and basically says "don't worry, I don't read you during our games" which was probably BS, because most Troi episodes revolve around her not being able to "turn off" her powers.
I think she has to concentrate to know who's emotions she is receiving. Otherwise she can only tell that someone is bluffing.
