The most recent superstar that comes to mind is Gurly. He was an absolute beast for the Rams, helped make them a contender, and after some reports of arthritis he became a complete non-factor. I know he went to the Falcons for a little but it was one of the quickest declines I’ve ever seen.
Not so fun fact: Every single RB who lead the league in rushing TD from the 2018 season and earlier is no longer active. That's only 5 years, and none of them are still active. In 2017 and 2018 it was Gurley, in 2016 Blount 15 it was Devonte Freeman.
