What Gimmicky Strategies Do You Want to See an NFL Team Try? (alien.top)

Inspired by that thread last week about stacking an entire team with elite offensive linemen and running for 3 yards every single play.

What other crackpot strategies would you like to see an NFL team try? I’ve got two…

1: A rugby-style offense that’s the polar opposite of the tush push. get your speedsters in a Flying V formation in the open field and let them lateral it to each other.

2: An offense that starts 2 mobile QBs (one lefty one righty) in shotgun every play. ball could get snapped to either one to run a somewhat normal offensive scheme, or just max out the gimmicks and do a bunch of flea-flicker, double-pass type stuff with the two guys back there

The 40-40 chuck it up strategy. Basically if you are a team at the 40 yard line or greater, every play should just be a chuck it 40 yards or more deep pass. Why? Each time you do it, one of 4 things are likely to happen.

1)A completed deep pass (Good) 2)A pass interference call (Good) 3)An incomplete pass (nul) 4)An interception (Bad)

So 50% of likely options are good and only 25% are harmful. Yet because this strategy only starts at the 40 yard line, you have basically made a punt anyway so the harmful result isn't really that punishing.

If you take enough deep shots eventually one will be DPI statistically

This was the Ravens offense with Flacco and Torrey Smith
