A Community for Dungeon Meshi a.k.a. Delicious in Dungeon.

The first season of the anime adaptation can be found on Netflix. Season 2 is confirmed and presumably currently in production.

DO NOT SPOIL THE ANIME WATCHERS

This is so that the anime watchers can sub to the community without worry of seeing posts that would spoil later parts of the story. This includes manga pages and panels, mentioning characters, fanart, etc.

Parent instance rules also apply, of course.

I legit enjoy this show. I never assumed I would like hearing about how to cook monsters, but Delicious in Dungeon is fun.

It helps that every character is likeable, the foods looks delicious, the lore is prolific, the ecosystem of the dungeon is detailed, the various levels interesting, the plot isn't all jokes...

I could just keep going. There's a reason the manga is hailed as a masterpiece, and hearing that TRIGGER would adapt it had me beyond hyped...

It only makes sense that it's turning out fantastic.

Well that's good news for me. I figured it was being adapted when I noticed the weekly shows, but didn't look up the source. Obviously finding this community confirms it.

I do like the characters. Well one I find odd.....like what's up with the sister that they are going after in the dungeon? I noticed all the flashbacks and scenes with her in it had her eyes closed. She just seems like a spoof of the captive princess trope. If that was the point then, okay, but she is unsettling to me. Not fleshed out like the other characters. Just smiles and giggles with her eyes closed....

I like the dungeon ecosystem lore too. From the cleaners to the moving floors and different monsters going to different level when resources run low. It's well thought out.

You must be just a couple episodes in then?

The full story will be something like 50 episodes, once fully adapted. The manga is finished, and consists of 97 chapters. So far each episode has adapted around two chapters.

Don't worry, Falin gets plenty of fleshing out, though she isn't around much as the one being rescued... Explaining any further would spoil some big things.

Well I appreciate it. I've seen her talk and in some flash backs with Marcille. I kinda was being overly exaggerated with about never seeing Falin talk. I'm up till >!she gets monsterfied!< and there are some >!elves trying to take over the dungeon!<. Not sure how far in that is, but I'm enjoying it.

Ok, you are caught up then. Falin isn't malicious, and her closed eyes are just how she looks. Most people figure that out by the time the gang revives her, and she joins them for a meal.

She is exactly the sweetheart she seems to be, but like Laios, is just a little weird.

After her revival, her soul becomes fused with that of the dragon. That's why she is a little different (though we don't see her when she was normal except in flashbacks), and why the master of the dungeon has control of her.

Check out the pinned World Guide in the community, there are links to previous World Guides on other Characters, and tomorrow I'll be posting another along with the next episode discussion for episode 22.

There's also lots of other bonus content that I've posted, such as lore on each of the monsters that have appeared (Monster Tidbits) and smaller World Guide posts on the various side characters, like Shuro's retainers, and the Tansu party.
