Cross post some material from here to r/antiwork and watermark it with lemmy.ml/c/antiwork?

Reply to r/antiwork users with "lemmy.ml/c/antiwork" when relevant?

An arguable anticapitalist movement can only get so far on capitalist reddit.

I'm not sure it would work very well to crosspost to content from here r/antiwork because:

  1. There is plenty of content there allready
  2. A watermark feels like advertising which people will reject when they don't know that Lemmy is an open source and federated project.

There is no harm in trying but this is my gut feeling.

I do think that either posting about the advantages of federated social media is a good idea though.

You are right that:

An arguable anticapitalist movement can only get so far on capitalist reddit.

And I think people on r/antiwork will agree with that.

Edit: I would just like to add that it might actually make sense for the r/antiwork users/mods to set up their own instance and maybe that could be mentioned?

getting the r/antiwork mods on board to help popularize lemmy or even host their own instance sounds like it has a ton of potential, fantastic idea

Thank you =). I think someone else, maybe @[email protected] or @[email protected] originally had this idea and posted about contacting the mods in a different thread.

I definitely think we should try to make it happen. Perhaps we could even assist with technical details. Can also point to Hexbear as a successful example when chapochat got banned on reddit.
