Toyota has a reputation for being barebones because they only implement things once they’re sure it’s going to last. You don’t see the fancy new tech, because they aren’t convinced that the new tech will last 10+ years into the future. Yes, their interiors are bare, but that’s because every single system in them has been tried and tested for a long time.
