Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. "Ugh... Damn it. I never want to go through that again."

Completely spiteful, Kazuya uses a certain method to date a girl. He goes to their meeting place and suddenly hears, "You're Kazuya-kun, right?" A beautiful girl brushing her long, black hair behind her ear was there, smiling at him. Her name was Mizuhara Chizuru. Something real is born after just a single rental! A reckless rom-com filled with love and excitement is about to begin!

I'm here for it. The manga is in a good place right now but I will drop it if Ruka causes things to "reset."

The last time I read the manga till the latest chapter (331), the MC was still a loser. I am telling you, the author will end this manga with them fucking for 50 chapters straight, and the MC will still be masturbating in his room whenever he gets reminded of his "girlfriends".

yep, 331 was the latest chapter when I last read it. Like a year ago? I bet nothing significant changed in those 30 new chapters

It's not good anime etiquette to post in depth details in a manga that haven't happened yet in an anime community, but from what I can see there is good development occuring.

You'll have to look it up yourself if you want to jump ahead

Again I will stress this again. I will fucking drop it if there is another bullshit "misunderstanding" that resets this development

I'm sure Ruka will cause problems. She is a bit too stubborn to just let them have their way. We still have lots of chapters to read it seems. But I'm sure no reset can happen, or at least I hope the author is not that removed.

I have never read or watched Rent-a-Girlfriend and don’t plan to change that. But this series has given me quite a bit of enjoyment indirectly.

The best way to consume Rent-a-Girlfriend is to just read the discussion threads on Reddit. It’s a bunch of people trapped in an abusive relationship with a piece of media that almost no one is genuinely enjoying.

I realized the author made a mistake by not naming Kazuya as "Rentaro"
