I’m contemplating purchasing a 4 or 6 cropped define jacket. I’m 5’6” 126lbs very muscular and lean. The model looks less muscular than me and it says she wears a size SIX? A 4 fits me, and a 6 also, but on the model a 6 should appear looser. My guess is they have clothing pin clips behind them pinching the fabric in to make it appear more fitted. They do this on television and for modeling clothing.
Wearing a size larger and cinching it in the back with clothing pins makes the item appear better fitted and less constricting than making the model wear her actual size, and have it appear too tight/form fitting. Still, my mind thinks well if the model is wearing a 6, maybe I should size up. I don’t want bra lines, but I also want a cinched waist. I would say I’m a 6 in the shoulders and a 4 in the waist with the cropped define jacket. I value a cinched waist more tho.
What would YOU do? Size up or down?
