What happened to Mark in S02E04 (sh.itjust.works)

I haven’t seen anyone else talking about this, but Helena straight up raped Mark S in that tent and he’s traumatized as fuck in E05. And all anyone has to say is that they “slept together.” Milkshake even puts it on Mark S, asking if he told Helly R that he “…fucked her outie.”

It’s like if a guy pretended to be his twin brother so that he could sleep with the brother’s crush. I think we would all recognize that as rape right away. I hope it gets recognized for what it is later on in the season, because so far that hasn’t happened.

The whole show is about lack of consent, and how it doesn’t matter if you don’t remember what happens to you, so I guess it’s on point, but I’m just feeling so bad for Mark S and I’m worried nobody is going to recognize what happened to him.

Yeah, my wife is still on the Severance subreddit and it has been brought up there. I completely agree, I would even add that Helly is also a victim of Helena as well. People on Reddit are splitting hairs about the legal definition of rape/SA, but whether it rises to that level or not it is seriously unethical and messed up.

According to my wife some people on there still think Helena can be ‘redeemed’ or feel sorry for her. Like, no, she’s been a monster since her first appearance in the tape and she hasn’t done anything to change that.

Glad to hear that somebody else is having that conversation. Too bad spez is a greedy little pig boy or I’d be part of it.

On the one hand, Helena very clearly agrees that the innies and outies are different people, so there’s that. But she doesn’t believe that they actually matter at all, and calls them “fucking animals.” Well, Helena, you raped one of those animals. That’s pretty fucked up.

I mean she might have secret feelings for mark but she legit seems brainwashed to despise innies and im sure that was the last thing she wanted to do too. More like kier is to blame.

I feel horrible for both Mark, and Helly R. Helena is a demon and if they try to redeem her it's gonna feel bad.

It 100% is rape because Mark S didn’t consent to having sex with Helena; he consented to having sex with Helly R. Speaking of Helly R., she definitely was also taken advantage of by Helena by using her body to take over her life down on the severed floor. I’m worried that the show is going to try and have a redemption arc for Helena given what we’ve seen with her relationship with her father and her comments about not liking who she was above the severed floor, but I think it’s clear that she doesn’t care who she uses and abuses as long as it suits her needs.
