  • Brush: Summer Break Soaps w/Maggard 28mm Silvertip Badger
  • Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Raw Titanium (#69)
  • Blade: Personna 74 (36)
  • Lather: Honeybee Soaps - Vetyver - Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Lyssa - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Dove Men+Care Ultra-Hydra Cream

Really hit the spot. This blade is a dream, and pairs so well with all of my favorite razors.

This soap was PIF'd to me years ago by ShavingInCT. He did the PIF on r/wicked_edge, so obviously it was before my "w_e is bad" phase.

The acent on this soap is really very very good. It's almost cologney for lack of a better word. I don't know how to describe it. Not a dark vetiver.

Quartidi 14 Ventôse an 233 de la Révolution, jour de Vélar

I'll be traveling tomorrow (only by train, so no disposables), so this will be my last straight shave until the weekend.

Have a good evening!

  • Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Nebulagance" - TurnNShave Quartermoon 26mm synthetic
  • Razor: Bic Sensitive
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Seville
  • Post Shave: Chiseled Face - Ghost Town Barber Aftershave splash

A good shave before going out for dinner. I really miss my real razors by this point. These disposables spark no joy.

These disposables spark no joy.

Agreed. I try to find an excuse for paying for checked luggage whenever possible, just so I can travel with a good razor

I may need to do the same. This is the second or third trip where I’ve convinced myself that it’s not that big of a deal and it’s worth it to not check a bag.

I’m less convinced that’s true after this trip. They just feel so damn cheap to use.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 hours ago

I had to try a bunch of disposeables before I found some that are "fine".

Last time I looked at checking a bag it was really expensive round trip. For a big long vacation it's worth it, but most of the travel I do is short.

I'm more drawn to cartridges, but limit them to two blades and am naturally drawn towards cheaper ones 😀. "Personna" used to make Twin Pivot Plus, but I'm not sure if that's still a thing with the rebrand.

MARCH MADNESS 2025 DAY 4

  • Brush: Summer Break Soaps Ord w/ TNS Quartermoon
  • Razor: Chiseled Face Legacy
  • Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
  • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles - Top of the World
  • Post Shave: Catie’s Bubbles - Top of the World splash

Kind of been on a synth kick lately. TotW is a ridiculously good scent and the lather is excellent as well. I really slept on CB, but bettter late than never.

So much soap; so little beard.

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Tabak Oridjinal, now with 28 mm Gelousy knot
  • Razor: Böker – Abalone (6/8", full hollow, carbon steel, French point)
  • Lather: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Post Shave: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original

Ok, this MM format seems to carry more potential for surprises than the brackets last year and I'm loving it so far. The bot's last count (a couple hours before shavinginct's official count) has Chiseled Face, Declaration Grooming and Wholly Kaw tied for last.

Scrape time: Tue 04 Mar 2025, 05:58:45 GMT

Artisan Brand
House of Mammoth 12
Barrister and Mann 8
Stirling Soap Co. 6
Talent Soap Factory 6
Zingari Man 6
Catie's Bubbles 5
Chicago Grooming Co. 5
Noble Otter 5
Southern Witchcrafts 5
MacDuff's Soap Co. 4
Spearhead Shaving Co. 4
Summer Break Soaps 4
Chiseled Face 3
Declaration Grooming 3
Wholly Kaw 3
Total: 79

I definitely wouldn't have predicted that wholly Kaw could outlast these two and here we are, it's down to tie breakers. I'm also curious to see whether Mammoth's strong showing is due to Monday or the Mafia and it's worth noting that the Talent crew seems to have started bleeding followers despite the total number of participant growing significantly. We'll see, there is still time for stragglers to change the result around the edges.

I had a fantastic shave this morning. AS2EB had interfered with my regular Tabac Tuesdays and I've missed them. There's just something about a totally familiar setup to come back to every once in a while that really appeals to me. Oh, and I love the Stank®.

The Böker with the vicious pointy point is also becoming a favourite. It requires more concentration than my other razors and forces me to slow down and use different geometries.
