Howdy y'all! I'm a law student living in Washington, DC. I'm yet another reddit refugee, although I've been on Mastodon for awhile already. I'm excited to see the Fediverse further expand and reach more people. I love talking about video and board games. I love reading and philosophy, and am also becoming an avid Plex user. Glad to be here!

Relaxed section for discussion and debate that doesn't fit anywhere else. Whether it's advice, how your week is going, a link that's at the back of your mind, or something like that, it can likely go here.

Hi, just another refugee. Not much to say other than the fact I’ve used Reddit for a few years at this point, almost solely through Apollo. This change was enough to get me to sign up, so hello I guess
Hello to all. I'm yet another reddit refuge. Initially, I was quite bummed at the news about the API price out of the 3rd party apps that had made reddit at all usable. Having discovered Beehaw and Lemmy, I'm becoming quite glad. I'd already abandoned Twitter for Mastadon, but I never quite appreciated that the Fediverse was a thing until the Great Reddit Purge forced me to take a step back and re-evaluate my (digital) life.
I'm now quite glad those bastards are putting the last nail in that particular coffin. I've known the Internet from when it was young, and I remember the nettiquette of olde. This place has the feel of those days. It's nice and refreshing.
I'm an avid computer and cyber security geek with a love of reading, music, programming, sysadmining, teaching, and many other things. It's great to be here with ya'll, I'm excited to be part of this great community! :-)
Hi! I am new here. I already have a couple of accounts elsewhere on fedi for quite some time now, but I also wanted to jump on the "escaping reddit" bandwagon and see where it takes me. This looks like a cool place, I am looking forward to participating! I mostly used reddit for looking for players for my RPG groups and for asking linux questions, I hope I will be able to participate in such discussions and activities here as well.
Hey, I'm Dan, I discovered Beehaw from posts on Reddit, and I am glad I did. That other place was bevoming less and less appealing. Anyway, I'm a dad who is a web developer. I love Ruby and solving problems. I'm also involved in scouting through yhe BSA, and my wife and I run a local cub scout pack.
Hello...Bees?
I'm just a middle aged guy living in Maine, US. Love my family and try to raise the kids as well as I can to be good humans.
Music is my religion. Mostly 90s grunge, alternative, and power pop, but really I just love a good song.
Comedy, video games, movies, books...I like consuming media.
Obviously part of the influx of Reddit users. Always happy to see the fediverse grow though.
Hello, people of Beehaw! I'm excited to explore this chill community. I love chatting about video games and I have three adorable pet rats. Nice to see you all here!
Yet another reddit refugee here! Really like the vision and community here, cancelled my reddit subscription and transferred it to beehaw.
Glad to be part of this!
Longtime redditor exploring new territory, to me at least. Digging that there is somewhere else to feddit and trying to get a feel for things here on Beehaw.
I like my coffee bold, black and pipping hot.
Hi, I'm a gozt (pronounced "ghost" if you care) and I'm a 30 year old dude who's trying to learn how to code. Taking a course walking me through Javascript at the moment and I'm rather enjoying it even if some stuff takes some head-bashing to understand it. Not sure if I'll be able to make a career out of it but I'm hoping for the best.
I have pretty broad taste in things, I like to believe there's something in any genre or variety that I will love. I think the quality I appreciate the most is sincerity; if you're into what you're making, and you put your all into it, I will probably love it.
Aside from that, my hobbies are gaming and drawing. I don't put as much time into drawing as I probably should but it is something I enjoy. And as for gaming, I play too much stuff and I've already gone on long enough.
I'm another reddit refugee, I'm in my 20s, I like watching movies and tv shows at double speed, I'm an expert in digital piracy and I'm hoping to make some friends here
Howdy!
I'm primscha, a Thai American lurker from Reddit and really all social media. I'm hoping to change that up a bit and get involved in this community. I'm encouraged by the positivity here. While I don't have a lot of tech knowledge, I love how developers can get together and create something for other people's sake— and/or for their own passion projects. It's very inspiring! I ended up exploring FOSS options for a few years now and the recent uh, events, made me want to join. I'd like to work at some tech startup someday in the user experience design field.
I'm studying graphic design and business administration. When I'm not napping, I randomly tend to these hobbies: volunteering, digital/traditional art, languages (German mainly), anime, and webcomics— but I'd say any topic with me is fine as long as it doesn't touch politics or mathematics lol (I can try talking about them, just note I'm not well-versed in either subject). I wouldn't say that I'm worldly, but I'm keen on learning and optimistic about my progress in life so far! (I can make dorky and derpy jokes in the meantime.)
Um, dunno what else to say. I have a dog. He's a cute but ugly, scruffy maltipoo.
Nice to meet y'all!
Hi everyone! Yet another Reddit refugee here from northeast Ohio in the US. Looking forward to sharing and discussing technology, science, and gaming with all the cool and nice folks around here!
Hello, Beehaw!
I am yet another humanoid joining the exodus from Reddit. My hope is that I can find more mindful, positive communities than the ones I'm leaving behind, and be more thoughtful about the way I engage with online content. Beehaw's philosophy seems to fit me like a glove and, between this place and Tildes, I'm optimistic that I've found new spaces to put down my digital roots.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest (US). My interests are all over the place and shift depending on the season, but generally: reading, writing, music (punk rock in particular), psychology, philosophy, politics, geopolitics, history, etc. I value decentralization and autonomy in a general sense, so I think moving over to a federated system will fit me better in an ethical sense.
Thank you to Beehaw for accepting my application, I am very pleased to be amongst such nice folks! I hope to see you all around.
