From what i can tell the "all" feed is identical to my "subscribed" feed. If true that makes it quite likely that i am the one responsible for subscribing to most of the remote communities

As long as we do not get any communist garbage on the local feed... lemmy.ml is infested with them.

I personally don't like federation for this sort of user experience. And especially I don't like the way Lemmy does it. It's a huge mess.

Most people here, including me, haven't used the fediverse much before. I would expect now that federation is enabled, at least some people will venture out and subscribe to other communities, gradually making the "all" feed more diverse :)
