I'm Jewish and the way Israel weaponizes antisemitism as a shield against all the terrible things it does makes me sick

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

okay but antisemitism is still a significant problem for many jewish people?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Okay but that’s not what this is about

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

okay but that has nothing to with whether or not Wembley’s arch is lit a particular set of colours lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

maybe but it's completely disingenuous to present it as a counterpoint it's just a weird 'all lives matter' argument

I'd argue that Israel actively incites antisemitism by claiming to commit hate crimes on our behalf

It shouldnt be on football to pick sides in a complex international situation like this.

They were always going to upset someone regardless of what they did

What sort of people would get offended by showing the flag of a country who suffered a terrible attack?

A Lil Inglander showing support for an oppressive regime…well I never.

I’m not weighing in on the original argument but I’m going to have to hit you with the fact that you support an English team

If you took the time to go through my comments you could at least dedicate a similar amount of time to making a point.

Only takes on click tbf but I guess my point is you shouldn’t generalise a persons opinion to an entire nation

I think that's no doubt true but if they'd have lit it up straight away on the night of Oct 7th then they could say they'd done their bit.

This is honestly the same reaction most of my Israeli friends have had online since this flared up, basically everyone is not performatively supporting Israel enough whereas nearly everything I have seen on the pro-Palestinian side is about providing aid and pressuring governments to pressure Israel into ending this.

This is getting very tedious. Israel and Jews abroad don't have a more worthy roll call of the dead.

Does the FA light the arch for dead Palestinians?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe a half and half, Israeli flag one side Palestinian the other, like those half and half scarves /s

Are all Football Associations from around the globe having an opinion on this?

You'd actually be hurt by this? That's a weak ass mentality

The Audacity, the claim of " saudi don't have humans rights " its in "ethical" when Newcastle was bought. NOW when a real genocide and massacre is happening in front of their eyes they look the other side and act oblivious and apologies that they can't support the country that kil.l babies in their crips.

Why are they apologising to a religious group because of what is going on in countries?
