Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Android is linux based. If it's gnu user land just call it gnu/linux based.
what if it's postmarketOS? Then what do we call it? musl libc/linux? busybox/linux?
If the article is talking about Linux based oses that are not Android, but can be gnu or non-gnu user land then "non-android linux based os" is a less confusing name.
